  • Getting tactical with Tactical Gamers?

Who thinks it would be a good idea to start forming some premade BG groups. There are quite a few perks for getting a good rank and rep in PvP and the best way to get there is to get together with other people in a premade group and hit the BGs.

I wanted to a few months ago, when I was really into the BG's, but I diddn't find much support for it.

What level were you thinking at? I hear that the lvl 60 BGs are a pit of twinkernation...but I'm a noob so all my hi-level info is secondhand :)

I'd love to do some lowbie BGs with TG though, when everyone isn't quite fully outfitted with crazy stat stuff.

well.. in answer to marconi... lvl 60 is pretty much talent < gear..
lvl 19 ( 10-29) is all gear > talent.... cause anyone with a lvl 60 payin for any blue item around lvl 19 is gonna twink the heck outa that... i would like to try this.. but it is just too much time to lvl rank and the best time to go is during our weeknight raids.. and weekend raids...

You'll find more rare items in the lower level BG's than higher. 60 is where it actually starts to equalize because you can't have lvl 60's farming for higher level stuff.

You will find a ton of lvl 20-40 gear go for often upwards of 600G on the AH.
The Gear isn't for PVE. =p

Re: Getting tactical with Tactical Gamers?

Actually the best BGs are in the 50-59 tier. There you have a nice equal playing field where you can't twink any higher than the possible norm.

Level 60 is full of retired raiders running around two shotting people with epic weapons in epic gear.

Levels 10-49 are mostly twinks wearing the afore mentioned blue gear and enchants you'd expect to see on level 60's.

Tis a sad sad world we live in. HOWEVER, if you can get a balanced premade going we stand a decent shot at actually winning some BGs. Most losses are due to there being either too much healing or not enough. Kinda funny actually.

                      Mateo is true...to a point.

                      10-19 is nothing BUT twinks

20-29 is heavy with twinks and its kinda fun since only hunters, shamans, and rogues have speed boosting skills

30-39 you start seeing a lot more druids running off with the flag so GG

40-49 you get mounts! Less twinks than in 20-29, but more than in 30-39

50-59 practically no twinks because you should already be decked out in blues from instance running. The BEST BGs ever!

60 not 'twinks' persay, but people decked out in all epics. If you're running BWL and AQ40 for a similar level of gear you're good to go. If not, prepare to be one/two/three shotted.

Anyhow, lets get a team together! Need better class balance than most raids.

id say if we got a balanced 10 man so that we dont get chopped when we go into wsg... the 5 adds when we get into AB wont do much harm...
ideally i would love to go in a grp with
                        2 priests
                        1 warrior
                        3 warlocks
                        2 hunters
                        2 mages

that would be the best WSG group EVAH.. the warrior being the one getting the flag =D

Ugh. Any team strategy that doesn't first call for a DRUID getting the flag is just plain horrid. I mean you left out druids, paladins, AND rogues. What were you thinking?

                            1 Druid (feral is better)
3 Mix of priests/paladins (shadow priests better)
                            2 Warriors (dps builds)
4 Wildcard (warlock, rogue, hunters, or mages)

Druids are a very obvious choice simply because they are the BEST assult class in WSG. Travel form is a 40% speed increase that is pretty much unstoppable. Dire Bear/Bear form gives you hp and armor of a tank. Cat form lets you stealth and sneak around. Get snared? Morph into something to break the snare and morph back. You can clean poisons and curses which means you can escape from a rogue's crippling poison and a lock's CoE if need be.

Priests and paladins are always welcome and nice additions. Paladins are walking tanks that heal. Heck, most people don't even bother killing them in a zerg rush because they're so tough. Blessing of Freedom is also a very nice way to ensure the flag runner has a running start and keeps running. Priests are some of the most multipurpose classes on the field. Heavy healing is good, but the DPS a shadow priest can toss out isn't something to sneeze at either. Dispell is probably one of the most overpowered spells in the game and is VERY handy to stopping shamans in wolf form. Being able remove the buffs of the hordies is pretty powerful and one of the reasons purge is so nice.

Warriors are killing machines. Their intercept and charge skills get them into range and hamstring keeps them there. The armor and hp makes them tough nuts to crack and they just...keep...coming.

The wildcard are nice to have around, but they each trade something off if you pick one over the other.

The warlock is a nice class to pick up with high health, heavy damage, and a variety of pets for situations. However, they are still very squishy and casters. Their mez spell is dependent on the pet and can be broken by hitting it. They have no stun or stopping power for runners other than CoE and that's pretty weak. They could kill you even after death with DoTs, but with heals hot and heavy the damage they do probably won't cut it.

Rogues gank people and get nice kills by hitting when you least expect it. Except when a good hunter is around. Then they run around in circles as they're constantly marked/flared and get picked off by the heavier DPS. They do have some serious stopping power with a variety of stuns and crippling poison, but are rather weak if left alone. Most classes have been ganked so many times by rogues they've developed strats against them.

Hunters are THE BEST at snares. Wingclip and concussion shot will keep someone slowed for quite a while. Frost trap on the run could slow down chasers and is ALMOST as unbalanced as an earthbind totem. Scattershot and freezing traps makes escape against solo enemies a breeze. They also provide a crapload of DPS and can two/three shot most casters with little effort. However they are all about snares and have little to no actual crowd control abilities. Scattershot, concussion, and intimidate are on long (relative to a chase) cooldowns. They're also relatively weak in melee even if they can pop out a nice 1000+ raptor strike now and again.

Mages, especially ice mages, are great at group control and pumping out massive damage. Although they don't have DoTs like locks or speed boosts like rogues or hunters, their blink helps them keep up with their targets as well as out of trouble. Their frost spells have some wicked short duration snares on them, and they can polymorph if things get a tad out of control. Saddly, they're pretty much useless against druid flag runners since their snares take a cast time and are easily removed by a morphing druid. Also, their burst DPS is surprisingly subpar when compared to a hunter, rogue, or warlock. A trinket or PoM mage can surpass them at first, but then fall far behind as they hit their cooldown.

I have been in there with twinked and non twinked chars... Had a level 19 rogue that was twinked for a while that I loved to terrorize noob mages.. I will have to say that wether I was in twink char or not. I have always had a total blast in PvP. I played the game for over a year and never was in PvP and now I love to go (Thanks Iliana *wink*). I will have to say the times that Mualord, Lunatg, Iliana and others were in BG together. We had a total blast!! It is so much fun!! I agree though that with the raiding schedule that we currently have it will make it very difficult to get a team together and there are a couple of BGs that dont allow premade teams 60 AV is one of them but I am sure if you try it on Saturday afternoon or Sunday you will see Iliana and myself run in there.

I will also mention that if you see me on here during a weekday it will be my son playing my chars and he is having a blast in 60 AV and AB.
