  • New Ranks and the Reasoning.

    We simplified Ranks last night...

    The Ranks:
General (Might change to "The Supreme")
    Council
    Council Alt
    Officer
    Officer Alt
    Primary
    Noobsauce
    Secondary
    Holding
    Recruit

General will have current GM privileges.
Council Alt and up will have full officer privileges.
Officer Alt and up will have officer privileges as before.

    Primary is for Mains.
    Secondary is for Alts.

Noobsauce is reserved as a joke rank and will be like the STFU as before.
Holding is just reserved for now. Recruit is same as before.

    The Reasoning:
When we were a smaller guild, it was easier to notice and recognize individuals for their dedication to the guild. We would promote these people accordingly. As of late, we have been unable to be as hands-on in this matter.

So, in a move to simplify things, we have made the ranks as they are now. The ranks may have recognized some individuals, but not all that deserved it. This makes the rank, in my opinion, to not be a good marker of dedication to the guild.

We will have to find another way to acknowledge people...not by giving them a stripe on their shirt or the bumping of rank.

There will be talk soon of badges, as there have been in the Officer Forums. These badges might be worn on your Sigs like other TG games. This is, like I said, up for debate and will be done in the Officer Forums soon.

You know there was something I always wondered.

Just what ARE the officer/GM rights? I can think of a few like kicking, promoting, etc...but what are they?

Also, do they extend to the TS server?
My sanity is not in question...
It was a confirmed casualty some time ago.

Light, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I had to kill because they ticked me off.

        Simple things:
        Promote/Demote
        Read/Write to guild chat
        Read/Write to officer chat
Edit officer notes on characters (rest of guild can't see this.)

        Council and up:
        Everything above
Edit Guild Message of the day.

        Guild Master:
        Everything above.
Editing Ranks (which is how this conversation started...)

It does not extend to TG TS...Luna and I have priveleges there due to Apo promoting us...I was promoted within a month of being here at TG. I don't know what he saw in me.

Re: New Ranks and the Reasoning.

          Ahhh...

You know I think I remember Luna mentioning on TS before a raid once some time ago that your status on TS should also change with ranks and such.

Supporting members are allowed to register to the TS.
Officers are allowed to register and given a few WoW admin powers like muting, kicking, and switching.

          Some stuff like that. *shrug*

          A few thought on badges.

They should really be more like pins instead of badges or the ribbon system the other TG groups have. Maybe small icons (10x10? 15x15? 20x20? 20x10?) with different meanings.

          Some examples...
          Class pins:
1 of 3 types. <leader> pins are awarded to the class leader. <specialist> is awarded to someone with a level 60 main. <reservist> is awarded to someone with a level 60 'raid ready' alt. You can have 1 pin for each class, but only 1 of the leader and main pins.

Example: Crebis would be a Hunter Leader, Druid specialist. Chair would be a Warrior Specialist, Hunter Reservist, Priest Reservist.

          Raid pins:
1 of 2 pins for each raid instance you are cleared for and have killed at least 1 boss with a TG raid. Something along the lines of <MC Raider>, <BWL Raider>, <ZG Raider>, <AQ20 Raider>, <AQ40 Raider>, and <Naxx Raider>. The alternate pin is a Leader pin for each instance you are cleared to lead from start to finish killing at least 1 boss. That pin would replace the Raider pin so <MC Leader>, <BWL Leader>, <AQ20 Leader>, etc.

          PvP pins:
1 of 2 types. You either lead PvP and premade BG action and recieve a <PvP Squad leader> pin or you participate heavily in PvP and you get a <PvPer> pin.

Just some thoughts off the top of my mind.

Actually, only the TS admins (Luna, Orion are the only WoW types who are TS admins) can kick, move, etc. on TS.

If, and only if, you are a supporting member of the TG community do you get to be "registered" with TS server...which allows you kick priveleges in essence. When you mute someone, it is only on your side. Everyone else can still hear the individual.

              Admins can kick/move/ban people.
