  • WoW Roster

Since our official Roster (http://www.tacticalsites.com/wowroster/) has been down due to some technical difficulties, I thought I'd host a Roster site until the official one is up and running again. It is up and running at http://www.midnightsouls.netfirms.com/roster/

Apo's directions are very good, so rather than explain how to set it up on your end, I'll point you to http://www.tacticalgamer.com/world-w...-warcraft.html

Instead of using the file TGProfiler.zip linked in those directions however, you need to use the new profilers found at http://wowroster.net/Downloads/get=5.html and http://wowroster.net/Downloads/get=6.html
And the URL to upload to is http://www.midnightsouls.netfirms.com/roster/update.php

There are a few bugs with it right now, it seems some pictures didn't get uploaded, it doesn't handle Outlands quests very well, and a few other things, there are patches out for WoWRoster that I'll apply soon.

EDIT: There seems to be a problem viewing the site at the moment, use https://midnightsouls.sslpowered.com/roster/ to view for now, uploads may/may not be working, I'll re-edit when I know more

It looks like I can't edit my post more than once, so I'll just quote it and fix what has changed. The site is up and running again. I bolded what changed.

Signatures should be working now when you upload.

Follow this format in your signature, using your name instead:

Cool, nice to see someone got that stuff working again.

Hope you let the PTB know how you did it so they can too. ;)

Hitch, once you get a working version with few bugs, let me know. Try to maintain the most current version of the site also. That was my snag on my last project. We can send Apo the version once it's stable so he doesn't have to do much of the work.

            Re: WoW Roster

Okay, WoW Roster is all up and running, worked out the last of the bugs today I think. My web hosting company has been a little flaky lately, so the site isn't always up, so I look forward to getting this back on TG's server. Feel free to get set up and upload using the directions above, there will just be a small change in UniUploader when we switch back to TG.

Creb - I'll roll the patches I had to do to make it work into the .zip file from wowroster.net within a few days so Apo can easily get it running.

Just call me confused. This is the first i've seen anything about our Roster page being dysfunctional. What's wrong with it? Ya know, if one of two of you come out of your hiding hole long enough to tell me these things I could get them fixed! :)

Pft. I followed the chain of command and jabbed Crebis with a sharp stick once or twice over the issue. The problem was the roster software was horrifically out of date and we needed to upgrade. However, the upgrades were rather unstable due to the significant number of changes from patch 2.0.1.

Ergo, no roster page until we could get good software. Kinda like upgrading from Windows XP to Windows Vista to run a vista only program. Just ignore the fact that Vista crashes if you sneeze or look at it funny and everything is all good.

We were running Roster v1.7.1, the current version is 1.7.2. I did the 1.7.2 upgrade this morning without issue and test-uploaded my character with the latest version of the profiler add-ons. Everything looks functional.

                    Code:
                    Parsing files

                        * Parsed CharacterProfiler in 0.08 seconds
I'm getting this error when trying to upload...this is the same error that made me think it';s been broke all along. It's like it's not parsing the file I told it to.

There's your problem, i think the "proper" procedure is to jab Crebis with a murlock eye. :row__593:

No no, Mirada- your sentence had some serious errors- it should have ead "Jab Crebis in the eye with a murloc".

Crebis, here are some ideas as to what could be wrong...
                          1. Incorrect Char/Guild Profiler versions, get the latest at http://wowroster.net/Downloads/get=5.html and http://wowroster.net/Downloads/get=6.html

                          2. Trying to upload the incorrect CharacterProfiler.lua file. There is a CharacterProfiler.lua in <WoW folder>\addons\CharacterProfiler this is not the one to upload, that is the addon file. The correct one is located at <WoW folder>\WTF\Account\YourAccountName\SavedVariables \

                              Re: WoW Roster

I have downloaded all of the new addons and pointed to the correct files and locations to upload.

When I preview my signature on my home computer, everything looks great. I show as level 70 and all of my skills are reflective of what they are in-game. No problem.

When I preview my signature on my laptop at work, it still displays my old level 60 signature with all of my old skill levels.

What could be causing this behavior? Is it anything that I may have done incorrectly? Just curious...
