Crytek & Ubisoft Comment on Raid
    Aramo | 5:25 | Industry Buzz

German developer Crytek commented on the police raid of its Crytek offices on Monday. In a press release (in German), the company thanks the German police for their efforts to combat use of illegal software and states to have fully cooperated during the raid. Creating software itself, Crytek is adamant on legally acquiring third-party software. Development on Far Cry was halted for a mere three hours.

Ubisoft, the publisher of FarCry, said it hopes "that the suspicion of a fraudulent use of an image-treatment software reveals to be unfounded."

Charged with illegal software use, Crytek returned to work on its upcoming first-person shooter on Wednesday at 2 p.m, according to Ubisoft. This contradicts Crytek's statement that it commenced work again on the very Monday the raid took place. Ubisoft expects the game to ship as planned by the end of March.

    Haha!

Note to self: Don't pirate software to create a commercial product. :)

At first I thought maybe they were looking for HL2 source. ;)
