DCS World is a free download, and includes the Su-25T for free. You can purchase the other aircraft (Ka-50 Black Shark, A-10C Warthog and P-51D Mustang) and aircraft 'packs' (referring to Lock On 3) and they're all integrated into DCS World. They've also got Combined Arms, which puts you in command of a group of vehicles in which you can individually 'jump' into any one you want.
Would love to play this, just don't own a joystick and don't think a cheap stick would work well, what do you recommend or use?
I use a Saitek AV8R-01, and I would consider it along the lines of 'cheap'. You don't necessarily have to get a $300 stick set up for the game (although I do plan on upgrading to a full set up in the future). I would suggest something like it to start with, something simple with a POV switch and a decent amount of buttons.
Okay, so I'm making my own campaign in Lock On Flaming Cliffs 2 for the Su-33 (since the game comes with a few missions, but no campaign). There's going to be a big mixture between ground attack, intercept and just flat out dog fighting. At first the missions will be shorter and less complex, but later they'll be longer with a lot of objectives (and as I start learning how to properly use triggers). I intend on posting 1 mission every week, with the hopes that my brain can think of enough scenarios to make around 10. So here's mission one: The objective is for a section of Su-33s to destroy a long range early warning radar.
A little mix of pace here. Landing a Ka-50 on the Kuznetsov. It was the end of a trial run of one of blackhatch46's in works Ka-50 campaign missions, the campaign to be centered around operating from the Kuznetsov.
