I am looking at getting this as well. Pretty new to the civ series. I have played a bit of 4, but never fully got into it.
Any idea if there is going to be a TG event similar to TG BTS: PitSuc, to help the new comers to the series learn it fairly early? Don't mean like launch day, but within like a month or so?
I haven't heard yet if they will be supporting PitSuc for it or not. If they do then we could certainly put together a game geared towards newer Civ players. Rather than team people up, I think I would try a different approach. Perhaps have a pool of advisors dedicated to answering questions in a common forum which would benefit everyone. Those players could also potentially be subs.
Well after playing the tutorial (yea I know, not even close to the full impression of the game,) so far it is really enjoyable. For the most part I enjoy the changes made. However the only complaint I have is you need to buy your hexs to expand, they do not just expand by culture. This might change in the full game, where culture begins to play a role, but if not, a poor change in my books.
The hex game play is nice, felt really easy to get into, but I have also played many other hex based games. Also like the no stacking, makes you think your unit positioning more.
Edit: It would appear I was wrong. The boarders do automatically expand over time. Guess that's why you don't judge a game on the tutorial.
I got a chance to play this morning for an hour or so and i was very impressed. Good changes all around and wow is this smooth as a babies butt. The interface is so smooth and clean as was the rest of the game. it's simply amazing.
