  • [INFO] Update Process

For those of you who play on our modded ArmA servers there is a few things to know before you hit the "Install or Update Mods" button on your Six Updater.

First, just because you see a mod with a yellow icon does not mean that the server has been updated. When you see yellow, it's time to mellow & check the forums first. Look for the sticky called "Server Updates". Check the last post and compare the revisions numbers listed there with what you see in Six Updater. In Six Updater there are two revision numbers listed when there is an update available. The one on the left is the version number of what you have & then there is the number on the right which is the version available on the Six Updater repository. If the number on the right matches the number listed in the forums "Server Updates" last post.....then you have to update to play on the server.

It's very simple. Don't update unless you check these numbers.

We don't control when developers update & we have to wait to see that there are no further updates or bugs with the latest version before we push them to our servers and our community as a whole. We have been burned in the past due to buggy updates causing us grief all weekend long. This buffer of waiting has saved us many a problem. This is also a lesson learned the hard way & not one we want to relearn again.

    Thanks all.

    Re: Update Process

Is there a way we can synchronize with the server as opposed to synching with ACE central? Seems silly that SIX allows us to see what mods and what versions are running on a given server, but won't allow us to roll back or update only to the current version.

Something like the Tortoise SVN program might work?

      Re: Update Process

Six only shows the current status of a mod. So what we see in the Bravo preset is only the mods being run on the server, but not the version of the mods being run. The only mod folders in sync with the server on six are our own custom repo's (@TGMaps, @TGAlpha, @TGDelta).
