  • Arma 2 problems.

    Hey guys,

I've not been on in a while, partly due to work and partly due to my Arma 2 not working at all...

The game loads up fine, gets into the server slotting screen fine, then when I load into the mission, everything is blocky, not rendering properly. Then I lose all my FPS and the game crashes.

Any ideas? Starting to bug me now :/

    J..

Ps. It happens on every server I join.

How old is your graphics card?

You'll either have to reinstall from scratch or try to repair by reverting to the older beta.
Also you can try using the Steam's own repair thingy thing.

Graphics is a 7870, less than 6 months old and had it since new, might do a complete un/reinstall whilst I'm at work tomorrow... :/

I think Rudolf is onto something. I'd try that before going through the big task of reinstall.

                  Re: Arma 2 problems.

I used to get the main screen looking like its made of legos. Nothing is rendered.
That happened when I installed DayZ sometime ago. I tried fixing it via SixUpdater, looking for certain betas, finally I ended up with a complete reinstall from scratch.
Just a heads up, give yourself good hour or so for it.

I believe KWALC had a similar issue a while ago, he never got it fixed even after multiple reinstalls.

                      Re: Arma 2 problems.

When I say reinstall, I mean really reinstall from scratch. Delete your arma profiles off my documents, any traces of the game, get it off the HDD.
If you have a CD, install that then build up to the latest patch, then beta etc.

I had to reinstall several times. That in itself was enough for me, but I got it working after painful perseverance.

                      Hope it works for you.
