I'd like for Dimi to expand on what he expects the Breacher Team, Kicker, to do in terms of tactics. I know he and I have talked but it would probably help other people looking at roles to hear it from the source.

Breach Team is loaded out with mostly explosive and "in your face" ranged weapons. Among their load out you will find a satchel, several demolitions charges, half a dozen slams, a single smoke grenade for KICK Leader(See Footnote #1) and a few other items that can be used for tactical entry.

            Main mission of KICKER
            1. Help Knight 1 and Knight 2 get through walls, doors, and anything that obstructs their way(See Footnote #2). The SLAMS are unique as they can be used to "punch" a man-sized hole in any of the mud walls by placing the SLAM on ground next to the wall. This will be extremely helpful as these compounds are sprawling and the main entrances to each are usually placed so that there is a lot of ground to cover before getting into a good cover and advance position. The SLAMs allow KICKER members to look at their maps or get info from "SHIFTY" the UAV operator and then locate and position on a better entry point. It should be noted that depending on how close contact may be after the report(explosion...) KICKER may be best suited to lead the breach effort, otherwise, KNIGHT will be better suited to be the first through the newly made threshold. It should be noted that demolitions charges will knock the Entire wall section down, exposing the entire team to immediate enemy firing lines.(See footnote #3)

            2. Act as QRF for Command in the case any of the mechanized units need assistance or KNIGHT 1 or 2 becomes combat ineffective and needs assistance.

            3. Act as their own fireteam. If things are going really well then KICKER can be used as an autonomous unit along with SHIFTY. It is up to Kick leader to determine if the KICKERS will be split up or act as their own fireteam. They may stick with CO until called upon.

TL;DR KICKER makes doors for KNIGHT.

Footnote #1: See SmokeGrenadeSpecialist for more.

Footnote #2: The walls in Kunduz are extremely well built, in fact, it is no secret that the tensile strength and "toughness" of the local mud used in these compound walls is equal to that of Solid Steel. This is proven by the fact that there are reports of M2A1 Slammers bouncing off of them like tennis balls at full throttle.

Footnote #3: Satchels placed on a wall for the purposes of breaching will result in a Court Marshal, if the soldier(s) is still alive after the fact that is.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if I can clarify additionally.

Dimitrius thanks for the details. I hate to bring it up publicly but you have a typo in your first paragraph. It says "a single smoke grenade" instead of "a single case of 100 smoke grenades". It's an easy mistake to make.

Apologies, I shall make sure to note that next time.

And this isn't spilling the beans on the mission. I enjoy the discourse. All of my joint ops missions have been(I Had seven of them in the A2 days) and will be collaborations with smaller auxiliary units. SO sometimes elaboration on their goals is needed.

Can you double check it though? I sent you a steam message about it and I'm pretty sure it has everything you need but if it doesn't, please let me know.

I want to give my support for this mission. Unfortunately, I have a birthday that day, and I'm sure my other family would love if I participated in my own party. Good luck gents! (and/or lasses, should they be present), and remember: Dimi is a cruel and unforgiving mission maker, so you'll have lots of "fun!" ;) (seriously though, I'm bummed out I won't make make it this time)

Does that mean loudouts will be 100% pre-made? No chance of swapping couple regular mags for tracers, adding few smokes etc.? If so, are the loadouts based on real-life combat loads (e.g. 7-12 mags for riflemen, 1000+ rounds for AR/MG, 35-40 grenades for GL) or more mission oriented with specific limitations (e.g. GL only gets 15 HE rounds because supply convoy was destroyed)?

                              Great questions Lord S.

KICKER will be the only team pre-loaded with gear, the rest of the team starts with their clothing and items. Nearby is a focused arsenal area which will give all memebers of BLUFOR access to an array of weapons. KICKER is HIGHLY ADVISED to keep their original layout, though KICK leader will have the final say.

The Marines will be gearing up according to their FTLs and SLs.

I do not adhere to real world load-outs on this mission as you have a selection from the arsenal.

                              Regards.
