  • Operation Red Hawk - Discussion thread - June 4th Event

The acceptable loss for this mission is about 50% of the deployed personnel. That is about 12 deaths. You can see that there is not a lot of room for mistakes.

There are extra RCO scopes in the Support crate. But very limited. The leaders should ration these to the necessary roles/individuals. The same goes for Range finders. There are more than enough CQB scopes and binocs.

Also, playing without any arsenal means trying to stretch the finite amount of supplies in the field to complete all the objectives. In addition to the ammoboxes at base, each vehicle has pre-loaded amount of ammunition. Losing a vehicle to a total destruction means losing whatever supplies that was inside that particular vehicle.

Sounds great. I hope I can join but probably won't know for a few days.

Re: Operation Red Hawk - Discussion thread - June 4th Event

Further information is that we will be running this event as pure 100% vanilla. There will be no TFAR, CUP Terrain (Core/Maps), and no ALiVE running on the server.

Right now we are looking at the number of sign ups and determining if we need a SL or a PL. We may have to begin to look at limiting access to events to those who sign up at least the day before. We all want organized events and this can only happen with forum participation. So, get your buddies to sign up if they want to participate! That way the leader can plan accordingly.

We will have a leader by the end of the day who will take over the planning while coordinating with admins so we can support this event to the full potential.

Special thanks to B who offered to add his touch to Connor's mission for this event. We appreciate his help in getting this ball rolling. Community members helping in these ways are essential to all of us. Thank you B!

Re: Operation Red Hawk - Discussion thread - June 4th Event

Welcome to FOB Focus - a small military compound on North Eastern island of Altis and the staging area for Operation Red Hawk conducted by North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) forces.

Command has allocated for us a Hummingbird Light utility helicopter and some M-ATV light transport vehicles for transport. We did manage to get one Marshall Armored Personnel Carrier (APC). A troop transport truck is also allocated for us.

Area of Operation spans over three towns South of FOB Focus against Canton-Protocol Strategic Alliance Treaty (CSAT) forces aggressively establishing garrisons close to an Airfield.

UAV flights conducted last night have identified priority targets to weaken enemy strongholds. These targets have been assigned to us as our tactical objectives for this operation.

We are deploying with limited amount of supplies for this operation. Command, in its infinite wisdom has decided NOT to supply us with extra backpacks. Their reasoning was "A vest and carrier should carry enough ammo for a rifleman." So except for Ammo Bearers, Medics and Anti-Tank roles, we are running light.

The weather forecast predicts clear skies and plenty of sunshine. Acceptable loss and reinforcements for this operation is 50% of the originally deployed forces. It is mission critical to minimize casualty counts.
