    The mission series known as the Russian Escalation is planned to be a trilogy that spans multiple different maps and are loosely connected. Much like the Serpents Trilogy where the Chinese (CSAT pacific) special forces gear and assets were showcased on the then new island of Tanoa, this trilogy will showcase the Russian VDV (Airborne Division) assets and equipments.

    First episode is focused around mechanized infantry combat on Altis. Second episode will use some Russian made air assets on Chernarous. Third episode will be on Takistan but no details are decided yet.

    Good news gentlemen. HotDogSymmetry has agreed to take Commanding Officer position for this operation. Unkl will be his Executive Officer. They will get further detailed briefing from the mission maker |TG| B and will come up with a FRAGO and will post it here.

      Wait, what? .... LOL, no prob. I think this TGU Thursday will be about convoy motorized/mechanized Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

      The difference between "Dismount" and "Bail Out". What a "Herring Bone Right" means. What a standard order march is for X, Y & Z vehicles and why & when the column is staggered.

      The festivities begin at 7pm or earlier on the Custom Coop Missions server.

        Just saw the role assignments, I was expecting more vehicle usage with all the cool toys available. I'll admit my experience with vehicle convoys isn't up to snuff, I pretty much only know vehicle scouting and hearing the screams of "TOW TOW TOW TO-".

            Vehicles in the mission are:

            GAZ-233014 MRAP (Armed with PKM and AGS-30)
            Crew: Driver, Gunner + 5 = 7 total
            Armaments: PKM 100 rounds with 17 reloads, AGS-30 (GL) 30 rounds with 10 reloads

            BTR-80A (Armed with 2A72 and PKT)
            Crew: Driver, Gunner, Commander + 17 (infantry can ride on top) = 20 total
            Armaments: 2A72 340 rounds in one load, PKT 250 rounds with 6 reloads

            BMP-3 (Armed with 2A72, PKT, and 2A70)
            Crew: Driver, gunner Commander, Right Hull Gunner, Left Hull Gunner + 16 = 19 total
            Armaments: 2A72 305 rounds in one load, PKT 250 rounds with 6 reloads, 2A70 22 rounds in one load

            BDRM-2 (Armed with KPVT and PKT)
            Crew: Driver, Gunner, Commander + 8 = 11 total
            Armaments: KPVT (14.5 mm) 50 rounds with 8 reloads, PKT (7.62 mm) 250 rounds with 6 reloads

              So here is the current make up of the plan for our forces. As this mission starts these could change in real time.



              2nd Infantry will mount up with the BTR-80A. The will move along to the dismount point marked. BTR-80A will provide a base of fire from its location if needed. 2nd Infantry will move threw the bush with fire condition RED. Once to the Depot the task of removing all enemy assets is the goal. Once the depot has be dealt with the BTR-80A will move along the green line while 2nd infantry prepares to load and move to the recon military compound marker. At this point in the operation and the depot and it assets are eliminated. Movement from the rally point the fire condition is at the squad leaders choice. Once the chapel and 114 are taken by 1st infantry. 2nd and BTR-80A will attack and take the military compund and set a BOF of Frini.




              1st infantry will move with COM to dismount point. Weapons are red during this staging point. We are to attempt a quick deployment of our forces. Once at the dismount point 1st infantry will move for hill 114. Command with its GAZ will move to its marked BOF. once 114 is taken we will proceed to take the chapel. At this point 2nd infantry would have dealt with the depot and be moving onto the military compound if not we will hold.

              Once 2nd and the BTR-80A is near the recon point or they have had contacts 1st infantry will move in their BMP with the command GAZ to OP2 hill marked in the above image. Command at this point will set up a BOF for the advancing 1st infantry. 1st infantry will move around hill 84 and behind hill 78 and begin the assault of the town.



              Assault on Frini:

              At this stage both infantry units will attempt the attack on Frini. 1st and 2nd infantry team's will both have fire support from the BTR-80A and COM-GAZ. The teams will attack Frini, 2nd from the compound and the 1st from the eastern end of town.
