  • Another Notice about new yoma update

Something the sticky topic does not mention. If you move all of your addons into one folder, and when you try to check for addons it is taking an unusually long time, you will need to rebuild your addons cache for Yoma. Go into settings in Yoma and click " clear cache database" somewhat near the bottom, then when it is done click 'build ArmA II cache"

Once that is done click 'check for addons' it should work.

Re: Another Notice about new yoma update

I was using the following commands in a batch file to create a consolidated folder of addons before the yoma server was setup to do it. So, using that folder made my yoma download 148MB instead of 2GB. If anyone is interested, simply run the following commands in a command window in your arma2 directory (YMMV):

      mkdir @TG
      xcopy /E @CBA\* @TG\
      xcopy /Y /E @ACE\* @TG\
      xcopy /Y /E @ACEX\* @TG\
      xcopy /Y /E @ACEX_SM\* @TG\
      xcopy /Y /E @ACEX_PLA\* @TG\
      xcopy /Y /E @TGMaps\* @TG\
      xcopy /Y /E x\caa1\arma_objects\* @TG\
      xcopy /Y /E x\caa1\arma_objectscti\* @TG\
      xcopy /Y /E x\caa1\arma_plantsclassic\* @TG\
      xcopy /Y /E x\oac\oac_core\* @TG\

ok guys. if you download this zip file and extract the batch file to your arma2 directory, then run it. it will create the necessary folders for you.

Re: Another Notice about new yoma update

Hey, none of this is necessary. Yoma is a badass tool. It does an MD5 checksum on the files in your arma2 folders/subfolders. An MD5 checksum is a long identifier that uniquely IDs a file by closely examining bits/bytes/filename/etc. (...but I'm skipping the long discussion on MD5 checksum)

When Yoma sees that the file is already present ANYWHERE in the arma2 file structure, it will simply copy it from the existing location rather than downloading it across the network. It will do this for each file (PBO, TXT, or whatever). The only thing to be aware of: it COPIES the file, so you will be using twice the space. After you sync, delete where you kept the old stuff.

          So you should:

          a) click "Download Addons" and let Yoma copy what it needs
          b) delete the old folder(s)
          c) click Settings -> Clear Cache Database
          d) click Settings -> Build Arma2 Cache

I really dont see what all the fuss is :p
I hit check addons, download, delete extra files: BOOM job done.
Kept my normal ace folders in case i get a bout of insanity (or boondock tests drugs on me) and join a different server while TG is empty.

Re: Another Notice about new yoma update

This bundling up of ACE and all other necessary addons is quite useful, since it means that I can keep my ACE up to date through SIX-Updater and at the same time playing here. This, however, might be an issue for people that do not have a lot of HD space.
