  • Important info regarding Alpha and Bravo servers

We are currently trialling a Server side Modification

Please Report ANY problems in the CAA forums HERE

Please note, that you may need to disable Battleye if you have it installed. If you do, you will need to delete your BE folder in your MAIN Arma2 Directory as well as the one on the temporary folder which can be found in the local settings folder

    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Arma2
    or
    C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\ArmA 2
    or a similar location.

Please also note you may need to enable hidden files and folders in the Folder options in the control panel.

As Always if you need help, you can ask an admin in TS or via the CAA forum.

Re: Important info regarding Alpha and Bravo servers

Hey Browna, I deleted BattleEye as you requested, now i tried to start up a game on alpha with Rampart and as soon as we launch the mission i crashed and the server died.
When i tried to reconnect i saw 'battleeye bla bla failed'.
                So......

Re: Important info regarding Alpha and Bravo servers

Both Rampart and I removed the BattleEye folders in the root ArmA2 folder and the temp folder.
The problem of us being kicked by the server, and the server crashing remained.
Socomseal took BattleEye off the server and we could finally play.
This then raised a question with me, why would we have to remove BattleEye while the servers are still running it?

                      Hope this helps

Re: Important info regarding Alpha and Bravo servers

Don't remove battleeye until it goes from "may need to" to "must".

Re: Important info regarding Alpha and Bravo servers

Don't worry: this change has nothing to do with actual gameplay or anything that really affects you guys. (But that's also a secret, so don't tell anyone!)

However, any weirdness out of the usual ArmA weirdness should be reported via Contact an Admin located in the link in my signature.

Some of us already took that as a "must" and Battle Eye is gone. Any ill effects from that?

Re: Important info regarding Alpha and Bravo servers

i've been informed that having BE installed is the only way in which you would get kicked. However it appears that that is not the case. Were working on it!

also, im going to pre-emtivly answer this question which will no doubt come up

Why not use bravo or charlie server?

We are! However we also need to test it on a server that gets populated, and it seems atm that alpha and bravo are used in waves! So its on all server atm!

and as always please post and bugs in the CAA forums!
link can be found in my sig, marines sig and in my first post!
