  • Framerate loss with beta patch

    Anyone else experience major framerate drops using the beta patch? I go from about 60 FPS to a major stutter of 2-5 FPS and then back up to 60. I think its because the patch changes how things are rendered, it appears to only render what you are looking at, so if you are in a vehicle moving quickly or sometimes even whip around quickly, it kills the framerate.

    Anyway... back to the old patch; I like tracers, but not as much as I like frames.

    Yes sir my fps drops to a disgusting rate, it is really annoying and I usually experience it in densely wooded areas

        Try adjusting your -exthreads= (1, 3, 5, 7) settings
        This is driectly related to rendering and how the computer is trying to offload priority on certain tasks to multiple cores.
        I do not have a good detail in front of me but from memory it is something as follows.

        1 = file access only
        3 = file and textures
        5 = file and geometry
        7 = file, textures and geometry (default setting)

          But I'm not running the beta patch. O.o

            It could be map dependent as well; where OA on one of the TG maps just doesn't perform as well as arma2 did.

              -EXThreads is also present in non beta users, I know to even run non OA content in the server we pretty much have to do -exthreads=1 on the server, other wise the old content wont load via the server.

                Only have the issue with the beta patch, no such issue exists with the standard patch.
