    Sounds like normal/high to me.

      Re: What settings....?

Surely that is a maximum settings, depends what res for the fps you get on average

      10gb must be overkill:row__628::icon_lol:

        Re: What settings....?

This is my specs and running on low:

        AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.01GHz
        2.00 GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB

You should check out the screenshot and video I posted earlier. It should show you how it looks in low and how it runs with my specs. I have no doubt that you will be able to run it in high settings. If you are still in doubt, you should ask Bamboo to go over your specs. He is very well knowledgeable with computer hardware.

Gregos you should have no problems running on high settings. And also running youre optimation at 150%.

No promises that you will see the enemy easier though!

It all depends on the fillrate (overall quality) setting I believe.

I 've heard people running on all high with fillrate set to 100% and people with better systems running only on normal/high settings because their fillrate is at 150%.

The more I experiment with settings in A2 the more I'm convinced.
This game is not Gpu, but Cpu intensive.
I think it comes down to how much horsepower, cpu wize, ya got under the hood.
Playing with things like screen rez has little to no effect, where usually a reduction in rez would result in a proportional boost in fps. Not so.
The only time I saw any increase in my fps was when I OC'd my cpu, and then it it was 1 for 1 percentage increase.
              IMHO

I've tried running ArmA 2 with just about everything maxed out at 1600 resolution and my computer just couldn't handle it, bogged down too much. Here's my specs:

                q6600 clocked to 3.4 linked to 2GB of DDR3
                EVGA 790i Ultra mobo
                MSi 8800 GTS

                  Re: What settings....?

i think i will be getting a slightly better computer than posted above as it will be a AMD PHENOM™ II X4 955 (3.2GHz) BLACK EDITION (Socket AM3) instead of what was posted above and i am happy to hear the response that it will be likley to run high with a high fps but i would love to see a screen shot of high settings just to see what it will most likley look like.

thanks for your feedback guys as always very helpful!

                    8 gig Corsair xms2 extreme DDR2 8500

I started out with a arma2 mark score of 2678.7
                    I'm now at 4094.33
All at normal except post process at low, fill optimizer at 100%, view distance 2k., rez 1680x1050
The two biggest things that helped me were-
Rolling back to nvidia 182 drivers and then in the nvidia control panel first page, using the slider and moving it all the way to performance.
But... I still get fps below 30 from time to time.... but the game is playable.

                    Hope this helps.

                            Re: What settings....?

Another interesting setting to have a significant impact on performance was the memory usage setting. As you can see, I have a GTX 285 with 1 gig onboard. If I set the mem usage in game to high, it drastically reduces my performance. Setting it back to "normal" improves performance by 15%.

To optimize this games performance on your rig it is obvious it comes down to several little adjustments that collectively make the difference between a slideshow and a game.
