    this thread is for your questions about things in the game i.e. "do the dogs bark?", that are aimed at those who already have the game and can answer them for you. this is not the "will my computer run this?" thread. I hope this will stop the numerous threads popping up everyday with just 1 question in them

    ok first questions of the thread:

    How many People can you fit in the back seats of the c130?
    How many can get in the osprey(MV-22)?
    Is the osprey(MV-22) easy to use?
    How many mp missions are around atm and do the same ones seem to be played over and over?

    I counted 24 in the C130 and 24 in the Osprey.

    There are some MP missions being played, major one at the moment is an "Air Cavalry" redux by Xeno. Some TDM and Hold missions too, and some other coops.

      Are there first-person reload animations and do they function properly (ie. removable magazine)?

      What, in your opinion, is the state of ArmA2 compared to the patch history of ArmA1?

      Is there a similar variety of modified weapons (ie. ACOG, M203) in ArmA2 and are these hardwired to the gun, or does it work on a customization basis?

      Are air combat and controls as simplified as in ArmA1?

        Reload animations are pretty much same an Arma.

        Weapons are not customizable, not every permutation of sight/GL/rifle is available.

        Air vehicles feel smoother when flying, not much else I can say on that.

            Are there different firing modes for the javelin as demonstrated in this movie? Straight shot and arch shot?

            Found some ARMA 2 movies on youtube and they both seemed to show a straight shot:

            The deploy time + lockon time seems way too fast for a game trying to be a sim... if only it was like the first movie I posted. I don't think you can carry a javelin around in one piece (tube + controller). This has to make tanking very difficult in online MP if people can just pop up their javelin and instant lock you.

              From my experience (couple times in training mission) the javelin does the top attack.
              Yes it sets up too fast but because the ai cheats you'll be happy you can do so.

                In the pictures thread there is a UH-60 with a slung load - how easy is this to set up? Scripting or just something in the init field?

                  Script/addon, no default way to sling load stuff. Though it is a LOT easier to script it with the attachTo command.

                    Thanks. Also, what's the story behind that frigate or whatever that is featured flying about on Youtube? Another building like the LHD?

                      Its a static object.

                      It was attached to a helicopter (it's inside it) to make a flying fortress ship o' doom.

                        Just wondering if they've re-introduced incremental throttle control for aircraft etc. rather than full on/ off with the program increasing throttle if you climb and decreasing it if you dive.

                              Are you sure? Because the last time i saw it, it was still Q-Z-Q-Z-Q to keep your speed constant and if you stop pressing Q the aircraft loses speed.
