  • [AAR] Patrol Ops Boots March 24, 2013 0800 - 1900.

We have implemented a change in policy for our ACE/ACRE Arma 2 server to allow multiple day session. With this announcement we have started the Patrol Ops Boots. A 10 hour session has taken place and only four towns were cleared over the course of 10 hours.

The average size of the squad maintained to be around 9-12 individuals. We have cleared Rasman (a city on the doorstep of the base) from insurgency activity. We have then cleared Shaman, Nagara Oilfields, Nagara and finally the town of Nur.

    Rasman:

Several IEDs placed to hamper our efforts were discovered and neutralized. The squad suffered several casualties but were able to clear the town after about 2 hours of fighting.

    Shaman

Shaman was a small village with a couple of enemy squads occupants. The Shaman was also home to several IEDs. All threats in Shaman were neutralized.

    Nagara Oilfields

Upon successful engagement into the enemy forces in Nagara Oilfields, we have encountered two enemy heavy tanks which destroyed our assets and caused heavy causalities. We dispatched a 2 man tank hunter team to neutralize the two tanks. The two man team was able to gain valuable intel on the town of Nagara when they were positioning to take out the tanks. The tanks were neutralized and infantry proceeded to clear the Nagara Oilfields.

    Nagara

Nagara was home to a large number of enemy combatants with armor support and a threat of a SCUD launcher. Our forces struggled against the forces in Nagara for 3 - 4 hours. At the end, we have destroyed 4 pieces of enemy armored vehicles, more than 100 enemy infantry.

At the end of Nagara operation the number of assets gathered at our FOB outside of Nagara has increased to unmanageable numbers. The squad formed a 12-15 victor convoy :row__530: to RTB and tend to our assets.

Nagara still remains to be a threat as enemy heavy Tanks seem to frequently visit the city.

    Nur
The squad then engaged to the town of Nur. Nur is occupied by a platoon sized enemy infantry forces. After a couple of hours of engagement as evening approached, we have tactically retreated back to our base. All assets are accounted for and back at Base. We have couple of ATVs missing from the inventory.

Nur is not completely cleared. We have cleared the North section of Nur. But South side still runs wild.

The map is riddled with notes. Try to maintain the relevance of the map notes, if you conduct any type of operation. Also you can post here to keep track of what happened.

P.S. Please do not change the mission unless it becomes unplayable. We want to see if we can finally completely Liberate the people of Takistan.

Awesome performance from all to date ! It's a privilege to fight along side such fine individuals that make up an outstanding team especially since you can tolerate old fogies like my self.

I'm very happy to see this. If I have some time on Wednesday or Thursday, maybe I can join in.

                Re: Patrol Ops Boots March 24, 2013 0800 - 1900.

The Multi Session Operation is truly multi-session now. The Patrol Ops BOOTS is holding up very nicely with great performance for day 2 since it was started.

                Day 1
Events of Day 1 can be found here.

                Day 2
Day 2 started very late. As late as the first combat operation was conducted around 1320 game-time. We have extended our control of NorthWest Takistan a little further. Most of personnel were not able to deploy on MAR 25, thus resources were limited. Although combat operations were done only half of the day into the night we have managed to clear three major towns.

                Nur

Around afternoon a small team of two people deployed to Nur - The most NorthEastern city. From the previous day Nur was half engaged and remnants of enemy forces remained. Nur was subsequently cleared around 1320.

                Gospandi
The road to Gospandi is through a valley with several bunkers overlooking into the valley. To make things worse there are several suburbs on the way. A team of four carefully and slowly engaged all of the bunkers and cleared out the suburbs outside of Gospandi. They have set up a small combat operating mini base at OP1 SW of Gospandi. After two of our members critically wounded, we decided to pack up and head home to find some more guys before heading into Gospandi. So we gathered up our assest and RTB-ed.

Gospandi was cleared by much larger and well equipped squad. I was not present. So I don't know what happened. I brought in a fully loaded Jackal with AT in the gear and full of ammo. Only after 3 minutes in the field a rocket destroys it with me in it.

                Muladost

We pushed on until we saw Muladost. Muladost was positioned within three mountains with three sets of buildings overlooking towards each other. It is a very difficult town to attack. Initial attack on Muladost resulted in one fireteam being completely wiped out and another running for their lives.

After the initial failed attack on Muladost only a handful troops were available to mount another assault into Muladost. Luckily night-time was approaching fast. So we had 4-5 guys with silenced weapons sneaking into the town from its North side. With the cover of darkness and silenced weapons and laser markers :icon6:, we were able to put a significant amount of dent to the number of enemies in the town of Muladost. North set of buildings marked as Set 1 is clear. We have engaged from suicide bombers to several squads of infantry garrisoned in buildings.

By the end of clearing Set 1 we had two critically wounded. Crawling through the darkness to find a civilian car and escaping the town only to find an IED on the road... Luckily we saw it before it was too late.

FOB BlueFog is still deployed outside of Muladost. Medical Stryker and Ammo is there. All other assets are returned to base.

                Roster of MAR25 operations:
                • Scotty - 17 kills. - Cleared Nur
                • |TG| Fluit - 41 kills. - Cleared Nur
                • slim - Grenadier - 57 kills - Road to Gospandi until Muladost. Out in the streets of Muladost.
                • Dirty - 69 kills - Road to Gospandi, Gospandi. Initial Attack of Muladost. Out on the hills above Muladost.
                • =MeRk= Morbo513 - Lead the team. Medic. - 30 kills - Gospandi. Initial attack of Muladost. Out on the hills above Muladost.
                • BetaZerg - new guy. He said he seeked us out because of videos? Anyway he knew all he ins and outs of ACRE. Out within North suburbs of Gospandi.
                • |TG-Irr| B - Heavy Automatic Rifleman. - 58 kills - Joined the battle for North suburbs of Gospandi. Skipped through Gospandi clearance. Lead Muladost operations. Out at base.
                • StarBegotten - New guy. But he was effective. 4 kills. Muladost. Out on the streets of Muladost.
                • Ferret - How he survives through everything is beyond me. 40 kills. Gospandi, Muladost. Out at base.
                • DemonicRaven - This one time when we were going to the field. He was grabbing civilian vehicles and taking lead of the convoy only to hit an IED. Little bit undisciplined. Might be due to being away from TG Arma for a while.
                • BL1P - FTL, AR. Gospandi, Muladost. 36 kills. Out at base.
                • Hitokiri - Muladost night assault. Saved us. 29 kills. Out on the streets of Muladost.
                • |TG-Irr| FunsizeEvil - Gospandi. Muladost initial attack. 10 kills. Out on the hills above Muladost.

Disclaimer: Kill counts might be combined over 2 days.

That wasnt me, i beleive it was Zypher who called it out and ferret who was run over by the civilian car, not hit by ther IED. But dont quote me on the names. I was in the civilian car though when it happened

FYI It was me who called out and subsequently got blasted by that IED. There are a few ATVs in the vicinity of the OP at FOB Winchester
