    UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

HERE IS THE TG MOD PACK BELOW: HOWEVER BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD IT, UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS MISSING TWO EXTRA FILES, WHICH ARE SHOWN IN THE LIST OF FILES BELOW, NAMELY THE IRAQI POLICEMOD AND THE REAL ARTILLERY MOD.

    DOWNLOAD THIS FIRST:
here's the mod pack packaged into a single 7zip archive.

    Then...........

    Download these two:
    Iraqi Police:
    http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1067

    Artillery Mod - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=2121

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO DOWNLOAD THE EXTRA TWO FILES!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU DONT YOU WONT GET ON THE SERVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to your file explorer and find your main ArmA directory. (Mine is under "Program Files", then "Atari", followed by "ArmA") In this directory you will find multiple folders one of which is called "AddOns". This is where you normally install the "pbo" files that the mod creators have built. However to keep things simple and clean for your main installation I would advise the following:
Under the "ArmA" directory, create a new folder, just like you may already have for "@ArmAEffects". Call the new Folder "@TGMods_Phase1" then in that folder create another folder called "Addons". When you download the mod pack above, place it in this new "Addons" folder of the "@TGMods_Phase1" main folder.
Then go to your desktop, "Right Click" on your deskto shortcut that you use to launch ArmA and select properties. You might see something similar to the following (mine for example purposes):
    "C:\Program Files\Atari\ArmA\arma.exe" -nosplash -mod=FDF_Sounds;@ArmAEffects;@6thSenseEU;@RTEditor

Simply add another ";" after any existing mod then without a space type @TGMods_Phase1. Your short cut will now look for this folder and load it's contents when you launch the game.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>

    Hello all,

Well as some of you know, we as Admins have all been lookin at trying some new things here at TG ArmA in order to; A: Bring something new and fresh to the game as a stop-gap to ArmA2 and B: As a way to bring more new players to the TG style of play.

A lot of people clearly like the whole "Iraq" style combat games and we can now begin to build on this, with the Avgani, Uhao and other maps being discussed. But for right now in this first phase we are looking at Avgani and Uhao.

Phase 1 is the first batch of mods that you will need to play certain missions currently in design or about to launch and so I would highly recommend you download these so that when the missions go "Live" you are ready to go.

We are looking at the Synchronizer for "Phase2" mods, to make this process easier.

For some who are not sure How? Below is a brief description of a simple idea that might help you.

Go to your file explorer and find your main ArmA directory. (Mine is under "Program Files", then "Atari", followed by "ArmA") In this directory you will find multiple folders one of which is called "AddOns". This is where you normally install the "pbo" files that the mod creators have built. However to keep things simple and clean for your main installation I would advis the following:
Under the "ArmA" directory, create a new folder, just like you may already have for "@ArmAEffects". Call the new Folder "@TGMods" then in that folder create another folder called "Addons". When you then download all the mods required from the list below, place them in this new "Addons" folder of the "@TGMods" main folder. TO CLARIFY, YOU SIMPLY NEED ALL THE PBO FILES AND SIGN KEYS IN THIS NEW ADDONS FOLDER. So it might be just as easy to dump the desired folder onto the desktop and copy the contents of each "Modfile, Addons Folder" to your new Addons folder within the "@TGMods" folder.

Then go to your desktop, "Right Click" on your deskto shortcut that you use to launch ArmA and select properties. You might see something similar to the following (mine for example purposes):
    "C:\Program Files\Atari\ArmA\arma.exe" -nosplash -mod=FDF_Sounds;@ArmAEffects;@6thSenseEU;@RTEditor

Simply add another ";" after any existing mod then without a space type @TGMods. Your short cut will now look for this folder and load it's contents when you launch the game.

    So without further addoo.......the Mods.

    PHASE1
    British Forces;
    4th Rifles - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3346
    British RMC - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3796
    British Forces Pack - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=2032
This gives you the British Land Rovers, Harriers and basic "Para" style uniforms with the soft hats!
    RAF Chinook - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3228

    US Forces:

    V22 Osprey - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3311
    US Marines - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1093
    Desert weapons - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=2127
    SWAT - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=794

    Canadian Forces:
    http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3574

    Iraqi Police:
    http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1067

    Insurgents:
There are a few out right now, but probably FFAA's are the best and work very well. However you need a couple of extra files as well:
    http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3170
The extra files pack - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3176
The files you need are "ffaa_armas.pbo" & "ffaa_caras.pbo" in order for the insurgents to work.

    Mortar - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3113
    Bank Robbers - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1514

    Artillery Mod - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=2121

AND THAT LADIES AND GENTS....IS PHASE1.

So get busy downloading and getting your folders established. Try out each new mod in your ArmA Editor and get used to them. For example the V22 Osprey is a great piece of kit but takes a little getting used to when flying, you cant just slam the brakes on with that puppy, it needs time to rotate it's rotors!
It is also quite a graphics intensive model and I would be interested to see if others have found that it sucks resources?

TG AVGANI - OPERATION NEEDLE is about ready to launch on Server1 and this will be the start of some new missions for Server 1.

    Enjoy guys!

    Best

I could be entirely wrong, but instead of using the replacement pack for the British forces you use this http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=2032 you won't replace anything but get the same units?

PERFECT SAM GOOD SPOT, It was so long ago that I downloaded it, that I was sure there was just a pack somewhere, will edit above.

Ok adjusted the list above Sam for the Arty. The Canadian Forces is the CMF (Canadian Military Forces) mod, I am sure a man of your talents Sam can find it! ;)

        Thanks

Re: Tg server 1 mods - phase 1

By the way, Canadian forces are working now. Been messing with the mortar in the editor, a tad disappointing, its static, can't be carried and only will traverse 180deg. Also the aiming system lacks any reference information. It maybe useful for targets the gunner can see, or if the spotter really wants to walk him in after each round because it seems hard to hold your exact positions. But its worth a try in some missions.

Had the same experience with the mortar could hit a target I could see but anything at range would be quess work more than anything, the AI might be able to use it better lol

Re: Tg server 1 mods - phase 1

For those of you that would like to play on the server/with the mods, but might not have the time to go through the links in the root post and sort out things that way, here's the mod pack packaged into a single 7zip archive.

Extract the folder (@TGMods_Phase1) into your ArmA folder, modify your shortcut accordingly, and you'll be golden.

                  Please also download seperately:
                  Iraqi Police:
                  http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1067

                  Artillery Mod - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=2121

Install these exta 2 items into the same TGMODS_Phase1 addons folder.

Differences from the original post by BD are as follows:
                  - Avgani island included (already on TG server, wasn't linked in the OP)
                  - Uhao island included (already on TG server, wasn't linked in the OP)
                  - Schmafelden island included (not on TG server AFAIK, should be considered)

Should be pretty easy to use this method, compared to having to download everything individually. It could also help prevent a lot of future heartache if people forget to download an addon or two (something we had issues with in ye olde days before ShackTac was ShackTac).

Packed size is 651MB, unpacked is 2.11GB.

                  Here's the link again:

Re: Tg server 1 mods - phase 1

I've been playing with this stuff for a few hours now. Some of it is quite impressive. Two points though. Firstly, does anyone have/know how to get a list of units and weapons for mission making? I've found some for the UK stuff, but not for the other stuff. Secondly, is there any chance we could get a persistent mission using this stuff? Like a NATO coalition or something like domination in the sense that its persistent and default for the server but not in any other way really. I assume we would have to make something. Don't know though, maybe there's something out there.

Re: Tg server 1 mods - phase 1

It depends which map Sam, there is Ultimate Conquest for Sahrani which is basically a Giant TvT sector control game, but I think we could probably build a persistent mission, the only issue being that Avgani as it currently stands, might be a bit limited, but there is no reason why someone could not expand this map and add a town or two, etc.

Glad you like it thought, I think we can do some great things with this.

Also forgot to add thanks to Dslyecxi for an excellent post, that makes things easier for people.

                      Many thanks.

Dslyecxi, thanks loads for that file - makes it a lot easier!

I'll second the Schmafelden suggestion: ran across mention of it a while back at SimHQ, and it is a nice map.

May I also suggest this tiny jump anim, especially useful on Avgani for those annoying walls and small grey wall ruins you can't walk over?
