A big well done to everyone for the following ribbons, get them pinned on boys. Lets give them a hand, and keep those nominations rolling in.....

    Distinguished Squad Leader (Class III)

    Who?
    |TG| Katanaman

    What?
    Distinguished Squad Leader

    Where?
    Operation Lockdown

    When?
    July 22, 2009

    How?
I was in the squad leader position and had divided the squad into 2 fireteams. Ka-Oz was the fire team 1 leader and Katanaman was fire team 2 leader. Each of them had 4 man teams they had to keep track of while we all shared the same ts channel(about 11 us in the same TS channel). Our squad was tasked with destroying AAA radar in the center of the main city of Chernogorsk. As we proceeded into town both team leaders displayed excellent leadership and judgment. They both were able to understand, adapt, and execute my orders to accomplish them in an effective and safe manner. As we pushed into town we were engaged by 4-5 pieces of enemy armor and 2 infantry squads. Both team leaders were able to get all of their men on the same page with minimal time on comms. This also kept me very well informed of their status while keeping comms calm enough that I could easily receive orders from command. Once we had secured a foot hold in town and while regroup ourselves both displayed an understanding of the situation and formed a tight and effective security around the church we were occupying. After regrouping we proceeded along the docks crossing a few roads. One team crossed the road while the other covered. Due to both team leaders execellent coordination we were able to move quickly into town. We located the AAA radar and while team 1 provided cover team 2 was able to place satchels and destroy the AAA radar. Unfortunately we were engaged by enemy mechanized infantry which caught us off guard. Thanks to the fire team leaders coordination we were able to quickly fall back to the church area with minimal causalities. I do not believe it would of been possible to have accomplished the objective and had such an effective squad if it was not for Ka-Oz and Katanaman.

    How?
I had the great pleasure in being the Squad Leader for the Heavy Weapons team (Echo) for this new TG Mission. Mission name: CoOp46_We_Were_Soldiers_V1-0

The team members mentioned above carried out my orders perfectly and watching the four players work as two .50cal M2 Crews was the very essence of what TG is all about. After the first few attempts to get into co-ordination, both Python1 (Gunner) and his assitant gunner Viper1986 and ChiefBoatsRet (Gunner) and his assitant Sturgis, were working as a very well oiled machine. They were able to break down the MG's, move and re-establish a new firing position in a matter of seconds. Not only did the team encounter heavy opposition, the team was responsible for destroying 5 enemy squads of infantry providing flank cover for other squads to advance. Excellent teamwork and as a unit they worked perfectly, especially as not one casualty was taken during the whole mission for this team. It was a pleasure to lead these guys and I feel they should be rewarded for their excellent teamplay and skills.

    AAR Nadezhdino: 4 Man Bravo

    No Respawn/ No JIP

    Nominations:
    Boog, Trallic, Scotty

Valorous Unit - Class I or
    Assault Specialist - Class I

I would like to nominate the surviving members of my squad/fireteam for the Valorous Unit award as I became the CO after Alpha and Charlie squads were eliminated. If this is not possible, I would like to nominate each member listed above for an Assault Specialist Award.

The degree of discipline the above members showed allowed for the successful completion of a mission designed for 16+ people with only 4 men.

    Order of Battle

    Bravo:
    Boog MG

    Trallic Medic

    Scotty Grenadier

    Skin SL

Alpha and Bravo squads were assigned to destroy three enemy armoured assets in the mountainous terrain near Nadezhdino. Supporting Alpha and Bravo was a single mounted infantry squad with a UAZ MG.

Our Commander tasked us with moving up the left cliff face. However, before Bravo could engage in standard combat operations we took sporadic harassing fire from civilian hunters to our rear. I instructed Bravo to immediately return fire and neutralize the threat. Afterwards Bravo moved towards the west hill face in an Echelon Left form. The Commander and the UAZ advanced from the East and road respectively. I instructed Bravo to deviate circuitously along the slope of the ridge to avoid a direct line of sight which would have left my squad exposed.

We proceeded to engage in multiple enemy contacts along the ridge line, I instructed my Squad to form line facing down into the valley to provide suppressing fire support for Alpha and Charlie. Bravo continued to provide overwatch as Alpha destroyed the first tank. At this time, Bravo lost our sniper due to a disconnect. The Platoon continued to press north towards Nadezhdino with Bravo covering the left flank.

Alpha continued to move north towards an open clearing on the right side of the road. My squad heard MG fire from the North East; however, due to the steep ridgeline we were unable to intervene directly. I instructed Bravo to hold a line bearing east and bring fire support for Alpha and Charlie. I asked Boog to setup a firing lane on the S curve of the road. Bravo engaged multiple infantry contacts bearing North, North East and East. We were able to successfully route all incoming OPFOR hostiles; however, this success was tempered due to the complete annihilation of Alpha and Charlie squads who appeared to have been massacred in the open field to the right of the road leaving only the four men of Bravo squad remaining.

I divided Bravo into two separate fireteams: Red(Boog, Scotty) and White(Skin, Trallic). I instructed Red to provide suppressing fire from the ridgeline while White advanced eastwards towards an abandoned barn. Bravo crossed the road next to the barn and moved into Nadezino engaging one squad guarding the second tank. We destroyed the tank and proceeded to move northward towards an open clearing to the North West. We took cover along a bluff towards the West part of town and attempted to move west up a hill to flank a section of OPFOR guarding the final tank. We immediately came under suppressing fire from a machine gun mounted on a UAZ, which prevented us from making any further advances. Moreover, we were unable to reference the exact location of the UAZ. Under the cover of a smoke grenade, I instructed Boog to provide suppressing firesupport while Scotty, Trallic and I withdrew back towards the West. Boog successfully suppressed the UAZ; however, he was effectively pinned and could not rally with us.

At this time, ammunition was in low supply so I rationed my spare rounds between Trallic and Scotty while Scotty obtained an additional MG. The three of us moved eastward along the treeline towards the sound of the UAZ. I attempted a solo flank while Trallic and Scotty with great disregard for their safety brought fire to bear upon the UAZ and killed the Machine Gunner. While the three of us assaulted the UAZ, Boog under his own initiative moved North East along the treeline and successfully eliminate an OPFOR fireteam guarding the final tank and deploy a satchel charge which destroyed the final tank.

The 4 man Bravo squad alone completed the objective designed for a BLUEFOR contingent of approx 16 men.

    Distinguished Squad Leader

    Who?
    Grunt 70
    What?
    Distinguished Squad Leader

    Where?
TG- ARMA - PC Gamer Event
    When?
    August 30, 2009

    How?
Grunt served as a distinguished squad lead during our scheduled event at The Battle of Ia Drang. During this event he lead a group of 5 men performing Recon for the group as a whole. Grunt prepared our squad appropriately, got us into proper position to counter the enemy and support the American Defense. During the hectic fire fights GRUNT had his men positioned at various spots on the hill side and to prevent us from leaving the spots he continually ran back and obtained ammunition for us. He did not leave his post or abandon his squad for a more "Glamorous role". Because of his actions the Artillery was able to continually fire providing valuable cover for the defending squads. GRUNT was killed once during the battle while attempting to assist another squad mate. This was the only fatality the squad took during the entire mission.

It is for the aforementioned reasons I nominate GRUNT 70 for the Distinguished Squad Leader Ribbon.
Again, great work, and lets keep it going with more nomination, see my Signature for more details......

Just the fact we'll probably be seeing a large flow of ribbons for the next few weeks before the fad dies down (ala PR).

Heh, sorry if I came off sounding bad, I didn't mean to sound like I was putting down ribbons. I was just simply stating how we are probably going to be seeing a lot of ribbons all of a sudden then sadly they won't pop up all that much after initial amount.
