    TERRAIN AND WEATHER
Terrain – Qrai is a small land-locked Middle Eastern Nation. It borders Iduas, an ally, on its West. It consists of rolling hills along its borders, desert vegetation, small and medium towns, a large city, various military installations, and an unimproved and improved road network connecting the towns to the city. There is a river that is dammed off which provides water to the city and forms a wadi most of the year. There is a military base to the North of Zargabad, the capital city and an airfield on the West part of the city.

OBSTACLES: Rolling Sand Dunes, Built-up Areas
EFFECTS ON FRIENDLY: Can restrict engagement distances to a few hundred meters. Reduces movement speeds throughout AO by air. However, hills allow friendly forces to gain a height advantage.
EFFECTS ON ENEMY: Same as friendly

AVENUES OF APPROACH: Most effective approach into the Area of Operations (AO) is via helicopter (160th SOAR) and HALO Jump (Delta Force)
EFFECTS ON FRIENDLY: HALO jumps allow emplacement of friendly personnel undetected by enemy. Approaches by Helicopter can be undetected by the Air-defense Radar since there are hills blocking radar coverage.
EFFECTS ON ENEMY: Enemy forces are not expecting any attack to come from HALO forces. Enemy most likely expects any rescue attempts to be by air, however.

KEY TERRAIN: High terrain in area
EFFECTS ON FRIENDLY: Enables observation of enemy and engagement by sniper assets and support-by-fire positions.
EFFECTS ON ENEMY: Enables observation of friendly forces

OBSERVATION AND FIELDS OF FIRE: Generally good depending on elevation and vegetation. Most areas allow engagement up to several hundred meters.
EFFECTS ON FRIENDLY: Allows friendly forces to engage enemy from a distance.
EFFECTS ON ENEMY: Same as friendly

COVER AND CONCEALMENT: Cover and concealment is numerous in built-up areas and sparse in the rolling sands.
EFFECTS ON FRIENDLY: In city, easy to find cover once engaged. Easy to become pinned down and fixed in a location. Difficult to locate and destroy enemy forces. Opposite in desert.
EFFECTS ON ENEMY: Same as friendly.

    Weather:

Visibility: 60 Percent Illum slightly favors the defenders since they have limited NV capability. However, aids pilots in navigation and flying.
Cloud Cover: Slight; little to no effect on aviation.

    1. SITUATION - a. Enemy forces
8 Weeks ago, Chad Hudson, a CIA Operative posing as a data technician infiltrated Qari in an attempt to investigate rumors of a possible WMD program. 3 weeks ago he failed to report in and a reliable source reported that he had been captured.
Battalion S-2 reports the following intelligence gathered from reliable sources:
2 days ago a Qari double-agent reported that he was being held in a Villa just East of Zargabad. We have to act on this intelligence as it is likely to be our only attempt to rescue Chad.
The Villa he is being held in is left in a state of disrepair with many holes in the walls. These holes have been patched with concertina wire which Delta Force operatives will be able to cut through with wirecutters. The villa has installed high-powered spotlights, guard dogs, and a small detachment of troops patrolling/guarding it.
High-value-target (HVT) Sanya Jafaar is confirmed to be at the villa so security is expected to be high.
It is expected that the enemy plans to move Chad Hudson within hours.
    (1) Disposition, Composition, and Strength
    (a) Disposition:
The Qari army is deployed in a state-of-readiness after border-disputes with Idaus. They are not expecting an attack, but always remain ready. The men are alert and will react quickly to any opposing presence once detected.

    (b) Composition:
Enemy forces consist of Eastern style forces. These men are expected to carry FN FAL variant assault rifles, RPGs, light Russian machine guns, and soviet hand grenades. They are highly motivated and are well-versed in warfare. Most have fought in wars with neighboring countries. They can be identified by their olive-drab clothing and many of them wear a scarf to protect themselves from sun-exposure.

    (c) Strength: Exact numbers of enemy forces are unknown, but estimates of enemy forces at the villa range from 20 to 35. In the surrounding areas, estimates range from 40 to 100.

    (2) Capabilities:
Maneuver: The enemy forces have a high degree of mobility, they have access to trucks, armored personnel carriers, and possess armor. It is likely that enemy reinforcements will move into the area using the roads near the Objective.
Fire Support: Enemy relies on heavy weapons mounted to trucks and any other vehicles they possess.
Intelligence: Enemy may have locals providing intel.
Air Defense: Enemy may have access to MANPAD weapon systems. Helicopter pilots are advised to take appropriate precautions.
Command and Control: Enemy forces have a significant C2 capability. They are connected via cell phones, satellite phones, and radios. Once friendly forces are detected, enemy forces will move towards and engage.
Other: The enemy is capable of conducting a sustained fight and of radio communication and signaling for reinforcements. The enemy has limited NVD capabilities.
    (3) Most Probable Course of Action: Enemy is likely to engage friendly forces with small arms fire and attempt to maneuver and destroy.
    (4) Most Dangerous Course of Action: Enemy calls for adjacent units to reinforce and flank friendly forces. Enemy uses vehicles for supporting fires.
    1. SITUATION - b. Friendly Forces
US Delta Force will be HALO deployed via Civilian aircraft posing as a nongovernmental aid organization. Enemy forces are used to these aircraft making constant overflights of the area and are unlikely to become suspicious.

Sounds great Igor. I'll try to make it. We have house guests but they may be out and about at that time. How long do you anticipate the mission will last? Is there respawn?
