  • Super Sexy Secret Ninja Panda Mission

This mission is one that I specifically made for the 353rd, but I decided to release it to the TG community. Hope everyone enjoys it.

I'm looking for a few good men to run the mission with me.
We played the mission twice tonight, no crashes to desktop, no serious bugs.
Thanks to everyone who helped me play test it.

    Task: Rescue Chad Hudson
Conditions: Given myself, 18 highly motivated hard-charging, fire-breathing Tactical Gamer Members, TG Alpha server, admin permission and approval, roughly 1 hour of your time
Standards: Our Navy seal team with supporting Air Assets will find, secure, and rescue Chad Hudson, a captured CIA operative.

I would like to play this mission at various times throughout the day tomorrow. I’m fixing the problems already mentioned to me: mainly mando missiles not working (replacing the hellfires with TOWs, they work), and adding a view distance thing to the mission (so you can set view distance).

First time slot I would like is 1600 EST APRIL 3, 2010.

PLEASE SIGN UP BELOW to a slot, ONLY 18 available (I’m taking one, sorry ;))
If two or more people sign up to a slot, this will result in CO choosing who gets it. As a wise Sergeant Major once said, “We are defending democracy, not practicing it.”
If there is enough interest, we definitely could run again for more folks. Maybe we can even run 2 at once using Charlie Server?

    SIGN UP SLOTS:

    1. SITUATION - a. Enemy forces
Early last year, Satume Molia seized control of the Republic of Afrene, a country rich in natural resources. In response, the United States began secretly working with the Republic of Molatia, Afrenes Northern Neighbor, to weaken and overthrow the government using CIA agents working with locals. One of the agents, Chad Hudson, was captured late last year. The Afrene army moved him to the island of Tiwonda in order to gather information from him.
Battalion S-2 reports the following intelligence gathered from reliable pro-US locals:
    (1) Disposition, Composition, and Strength
    (a) Disposition:
    Republic of Afrene, Mainland:
The Afrene military have setup an extensive air defense network to detect and shoot down any approaching aircraft. The red circles are approximate estimates of this network.
    Island of Tiwonda:
Afrene regulars have complete control of the small island of Tiwonda to the SW of the Republic of Afrene and have used it to setup a prison. They are not expecting an attack, but are suspicious due to the power outages that pro-US locals are inflicting. The men are alert and will react quickly to any opposing presence once detected.
    (b) Composition:
Enemy forces consist of Afrene forces. These men are are expected to carry AK-47s, RPGs and soviet hand grenades. They are highly motivated, but poorly led and trained. They can be identified by their camouflage clothing and grey pants.
    (c) Strength: Exact number of enemy forces are unknown, but estimates of enemy forces on the island of Tiwonda are around 50 Infantry reinforced with light vehicles.

    (2) Capabilities:
Maneuver: The enemy forces have a high degree of mobility, they have access to trucks and possibly armored personnel carriers.
Fire Support: Enemy relies on heavy weapons mounted to trucks and any other vehicles they possess.
Intelligence: Enemy may have locals providing intel.
Air Defense: The Afrene have an extensive radar network (red circles). If Blufor aircraft are detected, the enemy will engage with missiles and possibly AAA. They also have access to MANPAD weapon systems. Helicopter pilots are advised to take appropriate precautions.
Command and Control: Enemy forces have a significant C2 capability. Once friendly forces are detected, enemy forces will move towards and engage.
Other: The enemy is capable of conducting a sustained fight and of radio communication and signaling for reinforcements. The enemy also has limited NVD capabilities.
    (3) Most Probable Course of Action: Enemy is likely to engage friendly forces with small arms fire and attempt to maneuver and destroy.
    (4) Most Dangerous Course of Action: Enemy calls for adjacent units to reinforce and flank friendly forces. Enemy uses vehicles for supporting fires.
    1. SITUATION - b. Friendly Forces
USN Seal Team and USN Air Assets have moved into the Republic of Molatia and are preparing for a raid into the Republic of Afrene to rescue Chad Hudson, a captured CIA operative.

    (1) Higher Units Mission
JSOC will locate, secure, and move Chad Hudson off the island of Tiwonda NLT 060500JAN09 vicinity AO 018 078 in order to prevent enemy forces from gathering additional information about US capabilities.

    (2) Right unit Mission:
TF QUIVER will destroy enemy radar station after TF ARROW begins assault to secure Chad Hudson vic 020 063 in order to clear an escape route for TF ARROW.

    2. MISSION:
TF ARROW, USN Seal Team with supporting Air assets, will rescue Chad Hudson NLT 0300 vicinity AO 018 078 in order to prevent enemy from acquiring additional information.

    3. EXECUTION
Intent Statement: It is my intent that Chad Hudson will be found and extracted to safety with minimal friendly casualties, no loss of aircraft, and sensitive items (weapons, electronics, maps, etc.) do not fall into enemy hands.
If Chad Hudson is killed, the mission will be considered a failure.

    a. Concept of the Operation
    *USN Seal Team - Phases
(1)USN Seal will load up into CRRC boats
and move to the Island of Tiwonda.
(2)The breach team will move into an assault position while the security team seizes the helipad and sets up a support by fire position overlooking the prison.
(3)Once the Mission Commander indicates, the security team will destroy the ZU-23 south of the prison with a SMAW round and initiate fires into the compound and towards other enemy forces. (4)The breach team will breach the wall, find and secure Chad Hudson, and move him to the helipad for extraction.

    *USN Air assets - Phases
(1)Pilots will load up into assigned aircraft and proceed along route green, inside an enemy radar blind spot (marked by orange circles), staying below 20 meters to avoid detection. They will move to WP BOW where they will hold until Mission Commander initiates assault.
(2)Once the assault has begun, aircraft will move to prison and provide CAS fires to the south where enemy reinforcements are expected to advance from.
(3)The MH60 will land on the helipad at Mission Commanders discretion and extract Chad Hudson and ALL ground forces.
(4)Air assets will egress along route Blue, west of Island.

    (1) Maneuver.
See powerpoint: Operation Furious Eagle, Manuever
    *USN Seal Team
Seal team is currently located here. When the mission begans, the seal team will load up into crrc boats located here. Each team will take their own boat, command, breach, and security. They will follow along route white and proceed to the island dismount point. Once there, they will move into assault and support positions. The mission commander and the primary RTO will move with the breach team to an assaulting position. The executive officer and the secondary RTO will move to a support-by-fire position located on the helipad. The breach team leader and the demo man will sneak up to the wall. Once there, the TL will cut the wire and the demo man will plant c4. Then they will move back to the assault position. At the CO’s signal, the support-by-fire element will initiate fires: the SMAW gunner will engage the ZU-23 with a smaw round, while the rest of the security team opens fire. The primary RTO will call the air assets on AIR NET and signal them to move in. Once the fires begin, the demo man will blow the charge. At the CO’s shift fire signal, the assault element will move into the prison while the support element shifts all fires away from the prison. The assaulting element will secure the prison, then locate and secure Chad H. Once Chad H is secured, he will be moved to the helipad for extraction. The support-by-fire element will engage any reinforcements coming from the South. The CO will mark the LZ with VS-17 panels. He will then signal the MH60 to land, and ALL ground forces will board and extract while the AH1 and UH1 provide cover. All BLUFOR units will exfil along route blue and continue past the blue line to friendly territory.

    *USN Air Assets
Air assets are currently located here. When the mission begins, the aircrew will load up into their assigned aircraft. They will follow along route Green and proceed to WP BOW. Order of movement for all movements will be AH1, UH1, MH60. Once there, they will hold until the ground forces begin their assault and the RTO signals them. They will move to the prison and begin providing CAS to ground forces as needed. They will engage any enemy reinforcements coming from the South. The air assets will continue providing CAS until the mission commander signals they are ready for extraction. Once the signal is received, the MH60 will land and extract the ground forces while the UH1 and AH1 provide cover. All BLUFOR units will exfil along route blue and continue past the blue line to friendly territory.

    (2) Fires: No additional fires are available, only weapons organic to TF ARROW.

    b. Tasks to Maneuver Units.
    1. Destroy Zu-23 Weapon South of Maxsec Prison to allow air assets to move into AO
    2. Find, secure, and extract Chad Hudson
    3. All BLUFOR elements extract to friendly territory (above blue line).

Re: Super Sexy Secret Ninja Panda Mission

I've just read the operation order and this mission looks very interesting.
I just had a few questions: EST 1600 translates to GMT 2100? And where do I sign up for this? :icon_bigg

Edit: in case we use this thread to sign up, I would like to be one M249 gunners.
Even though I would LOVE to be one of the helicopter pilots (I don't really care which one, I'm one of those odd people that actually likes playing supporting roles), those things are valuable assets and as such I'd hate to be "that guy that made a mistake and wrecked the helo". ;)

Then it will be another hour and something to the game.
Again, if you guys need boots on the ground, just give me an m249 and a sector to cover. Otherwise if you have enough ground personnel but need a transport pilot, just ask.
The only thing I don't really want to do is a leading role. :p
Now all I need to do is copy all the callsigns and radio freqs on my notepad.

Ok, I've finished copying the important parts, but I have a few questions that are best answered before we start:
                    1) how are the Challenge and Password used?
                    2) what are the "Number Combinations"?
                    3) what does "Shift/Lift Fires" means?
                    4) do we have the markers relative to WP Bow and radar coverage on the map?
                    5) what's TF Quiver and the radars going off means that is possible to fly directly north of the prison to the CRRC point without getting shot down?

                        1) how are the Challenge and Password used?
                        2) what are the "Number Combinations"?
                        3) what does "Shift/Lift Fires" means?
                        4) do we have the markers relative to WP Bow and radar coverage on the map?
                        5) what's TF Quiver and the radars going off means that is possible to fly directly north of the prison to the CRRC point without getting shot down?
                        1. Challenge/Password is used liked this.
                        Soldier 1 sees Soldier 2,
Soldier 1 is unsure Soldier 2 is friendly.
Soldier 1 challenges Soldier 2 with the Challenge.
                        Example:
                        Soldier 1: Kill
Soldier 2 will respond with the password: Koalas

                        2. Number Combo:

                        Soldier 1 sees Soldier 2,
Soldier 1 is unsure Soldier 2 is friendly.
Soldier 1 challenges Soldier 2 with a Number
                        Example:
                        Soldier 1: 2
Soldier 2 will respond with the corresponding number to make the first number equal the number combo
                        Soldier 2: 7 (2+7=9)

                        3) what does "Shift/Lift Fires" means?
Shift Fires is you continue firing, but SHIFT your fires away from the Objective being assaulted (used when Friendlies approaching Objective)
Lift Fires is you quit firing at the Objective all together (used when Friendlies on or very close to Objective)

                        4) do we have the markers relative to WP Bow and radar coverage on the map?
Radar coverage deals with the Air Defense system of the Enemy
WP BOW is a holding position for the Air Assets

                        5) what's TF Quiver and the radars going off means that is possible to fly directly north of the prison to the CRRC point without getting shot down?

                        Basically, yes

Re: Super Sexy Secret Ninja Panda Mission

Well, it was a fun mission, even if it went all south at the end.
The whole flying in the corridor was tense, even though it's not hard, and landing on the LZ was while under fire was pretty cool, even though I had to wave off 2 times, what with the helipad being occupied first by a brdm and then under fire by tanks.
Sorry about the crash at the end: something hit me on take off (again to run away, since the LZ was again under fire) and I could no longer see anything. :icon_bigg

I would like to get a organized game of this mission. I know that people will probably play this mission til ad nauseum in the meantime. However, lets do this mission right, at least once.

Monday works for me, how bout 1600 EST APRIL 5, 2010.

Post here if you are interested. We will do a full-battle rehearsal, then run the OP.
