  • Domination of Fallujah TG Style

    Hey guys it's Scarecrow, I'm currently up to my eye balls in changing standard domination stuff to fit the TG way.

    I am looking for some suggestions and to bounce a few idea off you guys the run down of what I have or plan to change is as follows:

    Reduced reward of side missions to all armed humvees, attack little bird, and strykers except SLAT.

    Main targets give tanks, bradley, apache and a10 only

    All rewards are US Army vehicles, no more random stuff not from faction. (i didnt want to go the lingor domi way and add all faction but I will if there is a call for it)

    Plans to remove wreck repair completely, or greatly extend time (thoughts on this?)

    Plans to change from OPFOR taki army to Independent Taki Locals (Thoughts?)

    Thoughts of removing units "special" abilities or just some of them maybe (Just how does a medic carry such a big tent?)

    Possible to add in some ACE artillery, probably just mortars though no real need for M119 (I did try changing the team leaders arty air drop to a mortar but hand no arty computer haven't tried ace version yet)

    --- Remove Arty officers ability to call in magic arty in 10 seconds exactly where they want.

    --- Remove Mash from Medics, make it deployable from Ambulance or MVTR

    --- Keep wreck repair but increase height that you can pick up from due to buildings in fallujah you may not be able to hover low enough in some situations to pick up wrecks

    --- Make the "ranked" domi standard TG but reduce the rank needed to fly by half. OR add in the script used in insurgency maps thats checks what kind of weapons your squad mates have and only allows one per squad..IE no squads of snipers. I would even suggest adding all scoped weapondry to an array all grenade launching weapons to an array etc and If anyone in grp has scoped weapon you cant grab scoped weapon if someone has m16a2 m203 no grabbing an ak47 gp25 etc

    I wouldnt add this for items like dagr laser range finders etc though just weapons

    --- increase the base level for time between going unconcious and dying to around 2 minutes this gives squad mates time to get to you and also decreases the run shoot die run spawn run shoot die spawn style of play even more.

    --- I know alot of people probably wont like this one but remove MHQs this also promotes a spawn shoot die spawn style by decreasing the time it takes to get back to the action if you die. OR say for every 5 times you die w/o reviving anyone else you have to spend 5 minutes in a "bannana room" you old folks from evolution know what im talking about :P

    --- If you want to keep MHQs make spawning at base the fastest option and the spawn at MHQ should take 2-3 times longer or more ie if i die i can spawn at base in 20 seconds after death..to spawn at MHQ i have to wait 60 seconds

    --- Add some way to clear the runway of damage and debris from the eventual plane crash

    --- Im sure Ill think of some more but need to get back to work :)

      Thankfully alot of that can be worked around by the parameters, I added a few extra options to some parameters such as to disable artillery calls, cheating a bit by simply setting its max range to -1. This is a good fix for now until i figure out what i need to remove from the scripts. Also I set the defaults up to be hardcore. So wont be any waiting around for admin to setup parameters.

        Artillery operators completely removed now, replaced with Commanding Officer and Rescue Specialist, going to dump the rescue altogether and let team leads do it instead

        added extra parameter to set wreck life to 10 seconds, you wont be getting it back :P (Haven't looked into changing height of extraction yet)

        I've seen the stuff for restricted weapons, doesnt look to horrible I might be able to work with it and broaden it for at the moment you can't pick up rucks when active, will be looking into the editing the ranked stuff as well

        Cant really pull off the variable spawn times since its a global, so the mhq parameter will have to do

        tried swapping to taki insurgents but they wouldnt attack me nor would the bunkers or radio tower spawn at MT, found some settings in the domi file... must dig deeper on that one

            if you only have wrecks stay alive for 10 seconds no need to increase height as youll never get a helo over it fast enough anyways :P


            Id also look into adding the weapons to an array so you can prevent even farther everyone from grabbing sniper rifles

            for variable respawn spawn everyone in one location in a corner of the map, disbale player input, then move them to base or MHQ as needed

              I added the parameter so that we could just disable the wrecks if we wanted.

              Working on editing the restricted weapons list today that will keep everyone in their role, this is something I need help with though the current list is as follows

              So I need to figure up a better list of weapons available to each role AND add in radio packs and rucks

              As for the variable respawn the respawn marker is based on the flag position and there's already ALOT of variables on respawn already revive/wounds/mhq would require a bit more work and a severe overhaul so I am not going to touch it at least for now (keep in mind I'm still really new at this)

                Towards the Artillery Removal:

                You could always implement ACE Artillery. It forces the use of teamwork and has no option whatsoever for the vanilla "Arty Computer". Its nearly impossible to spam. PM if you need more info on it.

                  Ya it's in the works... got a good one for you guys though.. through no fault of my own the chinook can not lift as normal in domination (some odd bug no idea what), instead you must actually use the ACE sling ropes to lift things... i thought about this and everyone that was testing with me agreed i should just leave it "broken" so to speak cause the ace sling ropes are a realistic approach

                    I am working on the mission for the CAS training but I will help edit the weapons code after sunday

                      Exciting stuff, Scarecrow. Me and some other guys are also given the Takistan Domi map a complete overhaul.

                          to keep life simpler and easier for me and the admin team im just going to host it on my server for testing, but thanks to putting it on charlie i did learn ALOT of stuff was broken. If anyone can find a way to crack open the unedited 2.60e ACE domination and get me the mission.sqf that might help, think something went wrong when i changed the basic domi over to ACE, all files are exactly the same but what some new markers and stuff pop in the ACE version that i had to add manually so i would like to make sure i didn't miss anything

                          The respawn window doesnt show up, which is alright since i like to keep MHQ respawns off, and sometimes you die instantly with no life timer which is realistic in the way that you not going to get saved from every wound in combat but just REALLY weird that they broke.

                            Hey guys I need some practical and easy ideas on how to refill the ACE artillery ammo boxes, they only hold 10 rounds a piece, now if i could get them to refill every 20 mintues or so that would be swell

                              will remove all contents and then restore this listed contents every 15 minutes, prevents the ammo from getting over stocked but still resupplies the crate

                              i assume this should work for arty ammo but i have dealt NONE with it so im not sure
