  • Have your voice heard! Bravo mission template draft

Okay, so since bravo is getting more and more players, i notice some of the missions (like mine) are getting played over and over, and some (well, mostly mine) are broken because I tried to incorporate some randomness.

What do you guys want? Simple patrols? Seek and destroy? Defense? Infantry? Armour?

I am going to design a template that I will use to put out a bunch of missions across all maps for different player counts ranging from 10-40. Nothing too hard to understand, simple medical and respawn system. Destroy this. Kill these people. Patrol this area. Capture this. These missions will all have nearly identical briefings, scenarios, and objectives. I am doing this to get bravo playing more missions per night. So missions with simple objectives with action are key to keep people on the server.

But, I can only have so many ideas. What do YOU guys want? Give suggestions. Try to keep them simple.

This is just a one off where I can create like 5-10 missions in quick succession to get more higher player count missions on the server for the 10-40 player range that are re playable, get new people into leading slots, and make fast, fun missions.

I am leading the charge to bring this community back to a time when we had a large player base EVERY night. Weekends saw 50+ on the server. Right now, all these events are drawing more and more in. I have about 3-5 events lined up and completed, ready for playing over the next few months! But we also need down time with simple missions for fun!

Well being kind of a new player on Bravo, with usually limited time one it, first thing I would suggest is that each missions has simple tasks that are fast-ish to do so that JIP can team up with the rest easily without interrupting the flow of things too much and also know what to do. I usually stay away when there is a mission going as it is much harder for JIP to know what has happened, what will happen, and what the plan is. It is disruptive to players as well.

SO I suppose something like the main objective is THIS but to get there you need to do a, b, c, d, e, with -if possible- random number of AI on each objective so that you can play it again without knowing ok he is going to be there and the BMP will be there.

That German spec ops mission in takistan we played the other day is a perfect example of what your talking about. It was extremely fun and allowed JIP's to quickly join up with us.

Here is what I am interested in currently.

        1. Start at base, random rescue objective pops, light resistance on the way to the objective. Some kind of fraggo requiring that we defend the objective for ten mins. Fight our way back to base through heavy resistance.

        2. Start as a team at a downed chopper with one person permanently injured. They can stand, but not walk. Work our way back to base, without vehicles, through light to medium resistance.

        3. VIP defense. Defend a couple of buildings deep in Fallujah for a certain amount of time. A small fireteam needs to sneak out of the defensive point, make their way back to base and bring a few vehicles to extract the rest. Include a failed mission if more than the fire team leaves the defense point before the convoy arrives. Light resistance.

        4. Building to building CQC.

        5. Start in the middle of an ambush in Fallujah. Surround the start point with a circle of locked, destroyed vehicles and make us defend a downed NPC for a certain amount of time. Then either unlock the vehicle, or give us another MIA to rescue.

IED missions are okay too, but it's exciting knowing that they're coming and time is short. Action is guaranteed.

That's all I got now. I just woke up.

Hope that helps Sector, I'll add a few more later.

More random contacts en route to destinations. Random patrols dotted around the countryside.

Rescue missions are fun, with bost rescuers and people that need to be rescued being player controlled. Job of the people being rescued is to stay alive and find somewhere to hide (or keep moving). People have to find them. No respawn for the people that need to be rescued, respawn for rescuers.

You used the word rescue five times in three sentences.

xD You want rescue missions too!

I would pay good monopoly money to have another SERE mission. Those are fun!

I want to see more missions that stress leadership. Missions that are hard and require perseverance and not just sheer luck. While I feel like players should do things right, the team shouldn't be ultimately punished for it, be some repercussions would be nice. Some No-Respawn missions would be FANTASTIC. All we need is some sort of JIP.

Re: Have your voice heard! Bravo mission template draft

On another note! Is it possible to have a more mission-y seeder for Bravo? Insurgency, perhaps? Although I think I heard that it's broken with ACE. Seems to allow a reasonable stream of action, strategy and intense firefights, without having the 'big guns' of Domi.

                    CSAR missions.
                    Patrol missions.
                    Last stand missions.
                    QRF missions.
                    Smash 'n' grab missions.

Actually, that's a point. More missions where the aim isn't to kill everything - the aim is to get in, complete an objective, then get out as fast as possible. Where getting into long bouts of combat means you die horribly. Where you have to pick your fights carefully.

Re: Have your voice heard! Bravo mission template draft

Saying SERE or Pathfinder missions is not specific enough. Have not played either.

I'm thinking 450 second bleed out time for medic to get to you, nice a short, less then 10 mins. Basic respawn close, not too hard/far to get back into the fight.

I have an idea. What if I created a mission on each map that had MULTIPLE missions within it? Think domi with Main/side missions where you can kinda choose what you want to attack. Lets say I create a mission where on a single map, there are 4 areas where you can complete a senario, and then the mission ends. One area is a patrol, one area is grab a crate and run, another is goto an area to defend, and so forth. Then the CO can choose which objective he/she wants, completes and mission is over. Choose new map in this mission series, and new people step up. People and choose what they enjoy the most, faster into the fight, nothing too complicated, and trains newer players in leadership positions.

Think of my SML mission (without being broken) in terms of what could happen, except the CO chooses which to do instead of it being random.

                      What do you guys think?

I think this is exactly what I had in mind, it sounds perfect, JIP friendly, and different enough for people to enjoy it, everyone will have something to like in it

Sounds perfect. If it's possible to make the locations of AI and the stuff that spawns with them random (and clever AI, UPSMON style) that'd just be even better - the problem with a lot of things on Domi is that you can memorise them all.

                            MOUT.
An urban mission set in Chernogorsk, with friendlies being forced to hit and run, using the buildings, with large amounts of enemy mechanized infantry hunting them. Ideally with a fire support/CAS script on a long timer.
I love some of the battles I've had in Chernogorsk. So many of the of structures are enter-able and/or have roof access. Mmm roof top insertions via little bird, clearing top to bottom, seeking bad guys or intel.

I've been mulling over an air assault mission on Chernogorsk (as the Russkies naturally), but am a long ways from making it a reality. Couple of Mi-8s sent in to secure key points, with a Mi-24 as escort/CAS. Assault and secure and hold off the expected counter-attack.

Working on some SERE / CSAR missions at the moment. Thinking of basically making the same one twice - one version where the only playable units are the SERE people, and another where I've basically added in the CSAR group. Also a MOUT in Chernogorsk and Zelenogosrk, with patrolling tanks and stuff... will probably give BLUFOR some armour of their own, too. Aaaaand vaguely working on a tard-rush mission, with lots of riflemen in the desert for OPFOR, and lots of tanks for BLUFOR.

EDIT: Issue is, I have no idea how to make UPSMON actually patrol areas. I think I've set up the stuff right, but they just stand there and derpface. SECTOOOOR!

EDIT2: Woof, make your Zargabad mission work with ACE too!
