  • Help with the Editor [Cargo and Inventory]

    I have two questions for editor gurus.

    1) How do I start a player with a GPS?
    2) How do I put a fuel can in the cargo of a vehicle?

    I googled and tried a few lines in init part but it didnt work.

    For giving a player a GPS put this in the unit's initialization: this addWeapon "itemGPS";

    If by cargo you mean gear, then the command is just: this addWeaponCargo "objectClassname";
    But I don't believe the ACE Jerry Can has an inventory version of itself anymore if thats what you are referencing to.

    EDIT: Stupid me, I should have checked if they added an API recently...

      Jerrycan = ACE_JerryCan_Dummy_15
      Spare Tyre = ACE_Spare_Tyre, ACE_Spare_Tyre_HD, ACE_Spare_Tyre_HDAPC

      You can add ACE cargo objects by placing the necessary items through the editor then use the following command under the init for the vehicle. Probably for 'myvehicle' you can just use 'this'.

      [[mycargo, mycargo2], myvehicle] call ACE_fnc_loadCargo;

          It took me a while to get it working as the ACE documentation is fairly vague. As far as the first item goes that I had already written down in the a post when I thought how hard could it be to add fuel and wheels. :icon_mad:

          However John I suggest you take a look at Loadout Editor for ArmA2:CO and ACE2 (LEA). Although this will not perform your second question it is very easy to maintain predefined layouts and customize the loadout of your entire mission. In only a couple of hours I learned how to use it and implemented a custom loadout for almost everything except the AI (but you can do that too).

            Thanks a lot guys. I`ll try all these.

            I dont have ACE installed yet (I know, shame on me) but I`ll see if some of these work in vanilla.

            I used this addWeapon "itemGPS"; before but it didnt work for some reason. I am wondering if it is because of player models (PMC DLC characters).
