Whereas event missions require that technical issues are mitigated and that quality must be absolutely top notch, and

whereas practice makes perfect and practice comes with less variables and less at stake, and

whereas mods add to the complexity of creating a mission when dealing with classnames and gear/ammo requirements,

Therefor it is resolved that all event mission makers must have two completed vanilla missions submitted bug free within the last 6 months,

Furthermore, that all aspects of that mission meet standards for play on the vanilla servers and that play testing proves them to be free of issues by the TG public and in the eyes of the admin team.

This rule is now put in place for YOU to be sure we have quality event missions with a side benefit of additional everyday content generation.

Note: This new SOP replaces the previous "SOP - Mission Making - Putting Talents To Use".

There is some ambiguity in this announcement, does this mean no more TFR and/or CBA? Or are those assumed as "Vannila" as well.

CBA/TFR compatibility is something we have decided to do as a server to improve VON. It takes no further effort. If this is any more confusing to anyone then don't open the 2D editor because you are in for a world of hurt.

This is also a blanket policy that will apply to all to improve our overall missions. It is not targeted towards any past/future event but if anyone thinks so, they can ask an admin how long ago this was in the works. That was well over a month ago when we first discussed this rule as a team.

        Re: Event Mission Creation Requirements

I don't think anyone is challenging that, I am merely curious as to if I need to keep TFR or CBA in the missions I am currently developing as they're the only mods I am currently using.

          Re: Event Mission Creation Requirements

Develop the mission in vanilla only environment. That way there is no dependency from TFR/CBA mods. This is what allows vanilla players to join our server.
The TFR compatibility is dynamically done via a simple script in game. Here is a thread which we explored how to do that.

This is the only failsafe method to making sure that it is in a vanilla environment.

Failing that check your mission.sqm for any non-vanilla addons (under 'Addons'). Then just delete them, brutally.

While B's advice in this thread is still relevant this policy is no longer in effect.
