    In this thread feedback and discussion is welcome regarding the development of roughly 10 vs 10 player TvT scenarios. Please include the name of the mission you are discussing on the first line of any post.

    This is being updated this morning to include a map marker that updates the player's own position only. I really enjoy the fact that otherwise you need to communicate your intent and positions to your friendly units. With only 9 vs 9 I think this is fair.

    I am open to trying other approaches and welcome suggestions and discussion on this mission.

    I do intend to make an attack and defend version next where one team holds all the sectors and loses if pushed back to their respawn point but wins if the attackers fail to do so.

      This is the Attack & Defend version of this mission. Blufor must capture all zones in order from Alpha to Bravo. They may not capture Charlie unless they own Bravo.

      Independents can not recapture any zone except the final one.

      Blufor wins by controlling Delta for 2 minutes. Independents win by denying Blufor the win condition for 1 hour.

      Zone Restriction is used which gives you a message on screen and a warning sound if you enter any unauthorized area.

      This is up for testing on the test instance.

        Test last night was great thanks to Noyava, Harold and omL!

        Fix list done this am and uploaded to test instance:
        - fixed loadouts with smoke and mag count to balance
        - added a supply box for each sice where you can refresh your loadout if you fall back
        - fixed bodies disappear faster so that gear doesn't imbalance scenario
        - removed some rco from non-leaders on blufor

        To Do:
        - adjust end condition text in description.ext
        - write full briefing
        - explore assigning tasks without use of more triggers (integrated with Sector Modules)

          Fixed:
          - adjusted end debriefing
          - adjusted mission briefing
          - abandoned assigning tasks
          - bodies disappear even faster now (it waits out the full 30 second respawn timer already)

                - Mission created and is a much bigger playing area than the previous two. Need to play test to figure out what is fair for the ticket system.

                These changes were also applied to the Paraiso mission:

                Fixed:
                - JIP issue using BIS Zone Restriction (scripted own solution for MP)
                - simplified the workaround for no players on a particular side causing mission to end if only one player joined to start

                Added:
                - more aircraft to the ambient flyby
                - added vehicles that will have engine on for ambient sounds
                - added automatic logging into specific TS channels per side (fixes spectators hearing all in TS)

                    Some balance suggestions:

                    Generally:
                    The GreenFor team needs some gear upgrades. As it stands they have less ammo and no body armor - which is a significant deficit vs the US Army used as BluFor. If the goal is to keep up the asymmetry of the kits, which I get, then perhaps the GreenFor can have more tickets or faster revives, or something to offset the gear differences.

                    Sarahani:
                    The Charlie site was really, really difficult - having only one way to approach made it easy for the enemy to predict the angle of attack. This allowed them to make good use of ambushes and flanking counter attacks. The attackers generally ended up getting pinned just outside the entrance and attacked from their rear. The only way we made progress was to locate the enemy spawn and have MGs try to cut off their reinforcement path - which was dangerously close to spawn killing (and probably went over the line a few times by mistake) - that made the defenders understandably upset.

                    Porto:
                    Might need to increase the capture time or perhaps make it more clear when the enemy IS capturing. Given the small map and the number of GL's BluFor as, being IN the zone is not a viable defense option. Anyone who did that would get killed by the enemy GLing the site. if you sit outside the site you have no way of know when the enemy gets inside until they take it, making a re-take strategy useless.


                    Anyway, those where my thoughts. All in all I had a great time and hope to play these missions and others like them more in the future.

                    Also please give Lion bolt action rifles only. This is an important balance issue to prevent repeated squad wipes by that sneaky, sneaky man.

                      Thanks for the suggestions Noyava....and here ya go...

                      Fix:
                      - Charlie now has ladders and rooftop fortifications to allow for securing the perimeter and 3 points of access into Charlie (yes it means rappelling)
                      - C130 wreck near Delta converted to a simple object to fix glitchy collisions causing levitating players
                      - fixed loadouts (no 20 GL carrying team leaders on blufor, all kits balanced again and tested in game)

                      Added:
                      - map markers for friendly units
                      - forward respawn and resupply point for the attackers placed at Bravo once they capture Charlie (cut the run in half to Delta)

                      Future Plan:
                      - rewrite all scripts as functions to load them into memory DONE
                      - use createSimpleObject to place a lot of the fortifications via script and improve frames
                      - possible side objective ala Argo where a supply drop is capturable to gain an advantage DONE
                      - investigate playing the sound of a running engine on a simpleObject for optimization

                          Added:
                          - airdrop for weapons and equipment
                          - airdrop crate is marked only by green smoke and arrives after Charlie is captured
                          - the first team to secure the ammo drop will be able to replenish their weapons there
                          - added fortification on second factory at Delta and A RAMP FROM ROOF TO ROOF! Yep, there is a third entrance to Delta now!
                          - added ambient objects in the barn west of Delta

                          Future Plan:
                          - use createSimpleObject to place a lot of the fortifications via script and improve frames
                          - investigate playing the sound of a running engine on a simpleObject for optimization
                          - port all the changes and improvements from Paraiso into the Porto and Agia Marina missions
                          - churn out 4 more versions after some more play testing on how to set up the respawn tickets

                            Fixed:
                            - some misc floating objects
                            - Blufor base protection zone is much larger to prevent camping from the outskirts
                            - Independent win debrief referenced wrong time
                            - changing faction of independents so they will have rifles that can take attachments (WIP)

                            Added:
                            - parameters for selecting tickets for each side, the bonus for attackers per sector capture, the bonus for defenders at half time, the mission timeout length for defenders to win, the time of day
                            - parameters to control night vision gear for each side (WIP)
                            - attackers & defenders variables added to allow for easier configuration later as a template
                            - dirt mound to allow attackers a second route out of base compound
                            - additional building and obstacles between the Alpha and Blufor spawn to break up the sight line

                            Adjusting:
                            - all variable references to west or independent are being changed to "attacker" or "defender" (WIP)

                              Finished:
                              - mission parameters for night vision settings. Possible values are "Nothing","Night Vision","Night Vision & Lasers","Flashlights" for each side.
                              - scripts adjusted so all mission parameters now work as intended

                              Changed:
                              - added another Team Leader so the Squad Leader is not running a fire team plus two other FTLs

                              Mission is on the TvT server now!
