    GL4 has some pretty unrealistic behaviors. For example when the AI are idle they will do pushups, build fires and other unintended behaviors. I hope this works as a module and not a universal thing like mando missile. That would really suck.

      Took a look at both. Read the documentation for GL4, there is some cool stuff, but there is also some less than ideal stuff. Not as modular with GL4 as it is an addon, some things you are stuck with or you have to drop other cool functionality.

      I would like to run some test missions and stuff with both, but, from what I looked at and read, I would also prefer UPSMON.

        GL4 should probably be removed in consideration of the following facts:

        1. By default there is a debug feature turned on which puts a marker on the map for every friendly and enemy unit, what they are and what they are doing. To disable it you have to copy the GL4 scripts to your own mission folder, manually include them, then modify the scripts. All missions by default on the server will have markers, and only substantial effort will remove them.

        2. Any AI modifying trait in the init line does not work. You cannot disable AI move for instance, making it impossible to place units in buildings. If you set someone to captive, they are still considered enemy, they will shoot at you, throw smoke grenades, take evasive manuever but not kill the unit.

        3. By default all AI can call magical artillery if there is a friendly artillery piece anywhere on the map.

        4. By default all enemy AI will act as if they are in guard mode, and enemy AI have the ability to call up to 3 groups of reinforcements for up to 3 KM away, cars from 7 KM, tanks from 10 KM, air from 30 KM. This over-rides waypoint settings and other mission maker designs.

        5. Troops will automatically by default use helicopters for transport, over-riding any pre-defined settings.

        6. setCaptive is ignored by AI, they will still fire on captive units.

        This completely changes the way missions have to be made.

            GL4 could be great addition, but it changes drastically missions. It takes mission makers freedom away in creating new missions, limiting ability to just placing few squads of infantry on the map, giving them vehicles, and booooom there is a mission...

            We can't control or define what is to be happening in the mission, where the patrols can go, etc... just look up on Krause's post. I think UPSMON should get a go and see where it will take us.

            My 2 cents, I'm going to be making my missions the way I always was, advanced and with clearly defined things what I want AI to do. I'm sure that other mission makers will do the same. I will not just leave it to place few groups and vehicles on the map, anybody can do this. If missions will work towards crappy/unplayable direction, blame GL4.

            It's just my 2 cents like I said :).

              Finishing up a mission made with UPS, BLUFOR pathfinder assault with enemy reinforcements that can be called, and uses the UPS urban patrol script.

                Gl4 and UPS have almost the exact same functions I don't see what the issue is. You can use them together as well for some sort of super mega AI. Either way, GL4/USPMON should make mission making easier as you no longer have to place every single squad in perfect position. Outcomes that should happen will, if you intended the player to run into all the enemies on the map, he/she will with GL4/USPMON enabled.

                  I'm sure that GL4 is great mod, based on ECP from Operation Flashpoint 1. However, I'm making a mission and will see how it runs with GL4 on server. Hopefully, there wouldn't be any problems.

                    USPMON is not an addon - its a scripting framework which has to be consciously enabled by the mission maker, meaning it wont break the gameplay on the server, as GL4 has. I clearly defined what "the issue is." The simple fact that waypoints are broken is enough reason to remove it immediately.

                    Personally I won't be making missions anymore if we keep GL4 on the server.

                      I completely agree with Krause, betia, and Mikee GL4 is unsustainable on the sever, it severally limits the flexibility of mission makers for the reasons metioned above as well as breaks EVERY mission currently on the sever. I would like to see its imediate removal as well as a discussion between the admins and the mission devs for an AI mod that works and is compatiable with current mission making standards

                        Socomseal93, please, we mission makers are the ones who create missions :). We really know when something is limiting our ability in making new scenarios and making job harder for us. I know it was supposed to help, but it turned around against us.
                        I really appreciate that you guys (Admins) want to apply GL4 for TG Community, but it didn't work out the way it supposed to.

                        I would recommend to either wait, until new update for GL4 comes out, try out UPSMON or just wait...

                          Also there is a new AI system by a guy who did one for ARMA that worked really well that he is planning to release soon that applies a more passive AI upgrade and just makes the AI behave smarter in the context of the mission makers waypoints. etc. I think we should take GL4 off and wait until this is out or try UPSMON

                            i feel that we should listen to the mission makers and have the UPS one instead. i know that from the extensive testing that has been done and the results relayed to myself, i feel that i trust the judgment from the devs on this one and i feel that we should have the UPS AI instead. the GL4 is just way to....to...not for us i guess and limits what the UPS can accomplish

                              Sounds good but lets set up a time to test UPS with the mission devs BEFORE we put it on the regular severs so we can confirm its not breaking missions
