  • Howto: Completely disable ALL GL4 features in your mission

    This is besides the "Defend" module work around, this truly turns off GL4 in your mission. This will completely, 100% disable all GL4 in your mission. Be advised, I haven't found any side effects *yet*, but who knows what they could have gotten wrong.

    EDIT: fyi this is the "official" documented method in doing it.

    #1. Create a script, say disableGl4.sqf
    Code:
    waitUntil { !(isNil "GL4_Core") };
    GL4_Core set [0, False];
    GL4_Core set [1, False];
    GL4_Core set [2, False];
    GL4_Core set [3, False];
    GL4_Core set [4, False];

    waitUntil { !(isNil "GL4_Local") };
    (GL4_Local select 0) set [0, False];

    waitUntil { !(isNil "GL4_Global") };
    GL4_Global set [62, False];
    2. Add this to your init.sqf, near the top and both server and client side:
    Code:
    [] execVM "disableGl4.sqf";
    All done, GL4 server and client side should now be off.

      didnt mean to do that....gar!!!

      Also - please test this out extensively. I'm still getting wierd circumstantial anomolies of player marker still showing...randomly...between missions. not sure whats different or anything.

      Also - just as a side note, per the readme:
      - If you DISABLE teh CBA auto-init (GL_Core config #0), and then DONT place a module, it should disable only the AI.

        I think GL4 still needs to go.

              Thanks for this post. I'm glad we can disable it.

              This is one of the most worthless mods for ArmA 2 to date in my opinion. After playing it on our servers, I believe it does not live up to what the authors claim it does. I have been left with the impression that sometimes it makes the AI too hard and sensitive from what I've experienced.

                GL4 also conflicts with ACE: at the moment, I already found that one ACE mechanic no longer works with GL4 enabled; even if you don't have earplugs, you no longer risk going deaf when close to/firing medium and heavy MGs and other similar weapons.

                  +1 on this.

                  Although its great for new mission makers that do static AI placements, or for lazy factor. It has now completely obliterated any mission maker who has heavily relied on triggers to simulate tactical responses.
