  • Ambient Civilians Module

    Question on Ambient Civilians module, looking at the wiki site and notice this, for this to work, I have to type in the Init block,

    BIS_alice_mainscope setvariable ["civilianRarity",["Citizen1",10,"Worker2",0.8]];

    What this is suppose to do is changing civilian rarity numbers (e.g. to have villagers spawned in cities, or to disable spawning of given class completely with unusual number like 10). default rarity numbers are set in config under rarityUrban value (in range from 0/village to 1/city), this quote is from the wiki site.

    Bear with me guys, I'm starting to get back into ArmA again and working on a scenario :row__587:
    Knowing is not enough, we must apply.

    Willing is not enough, we must DO.

    I will have to test this module and that code. If you just put the module in it will work. With the setvariables, you are just changing different aspects of the module.

    Ok just from looking at this variable. I think the civilians to be spawned are
    1. Pulled from a list
    2. Use a probability to place them, example 0.8 means there will be an 80% chance of that unit spawning in a city.
    3. If you change it to 10, you are disabling the unit completely.

      That's what I want to do, so the answer is to type that setvariables in the init block, is that correct?

        I think that you put that line into the initialization line of the module.

          What kind of effect does this module have on performance?

            I think the ambient civs module is not very good performance wise.
            I like to place civs myself...
