  • ArmA2: Possible to Expand Field of View?

One thing I'm having trouble adjusting to in ArmA2 is the relatively narrow field of view... I didn't see any way to change this in-game, but is anyone here running a mod that affects the FOV? I'm just looking for a little more peripheral vision.

I've wondered about that myself, something like how the view appears when you press "-".

You can bind a key to toggle your view to get the same effect as "-". Also freelook is your friend! :)

There used to be a client side addon that worked for ArmAI but unfortunately there isn't one for the current.
Guess we all have to get used to the FOV of current until then.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of - That was one of the best mods I had. In addition to the FOV impovement, it let you see a little further behind you too when in vehicle... simulated how your eyes really work: although your chin only turns to your shoulder, your eyes can move in their sockets to see behind you a little bit.

          Too bad.

You could double tap the minus key.

It would only work if it was set on the server side. It will not work on veteran mode.
Besides, having one edge over another is rather sportsmanlike.

Suppose it is a bit unsportsmanlike, just trying to answer his question.

Can see what you're getting at, but it's actually not that big a deal. Heh, in ArmA2 it might even be a net disadvantage: increasing your FOV effectively decreases your zoom. So while your peripheral vision improves, you decrease your ability to interpret the scene at a distance.

Anyway... bit of a moot point apparently :D

Ya, like others have said, TrackIR will be awesome in this instance.
