  • Squad XML's and Transparant PAA logos - need help

So my clan has recently supported ArmA 2 completely, and me and a clan mate of mine are working on the squad XML's, XSL's, DTD's, and the CSS files. We have all that completely finished and working, and we are creating a logo. We followed the TGA -> PAA conversion suggested by the BIS Wiki on squad XML files, though we aren't using GIMP like the guide was.

The problem we are having is with making the PAA actually Transparent in game on the vehicles and in the player menu.

If anyone knows how to do this, your help would be appreciated.

What program are you using to create the XML logo?

      [unit][squadl][command2]

To create the logo we are using Adobe Photoshop (I have CS4, mate has some other CS version).
We saved as .TGA then use TexView to convert to .PAA, (like it said in http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/squad.xml )

the version of txtview there might not be the correct revision (had problems with an older one). The other issue is that your hosting site must support the passing of the .paa files without mucking with them. afaik some linux hosts don't.

I also recommend using a .png for the conversion, as I've had less problems with it and you need one anyways for the player list image and xml page it makes.
