  • Moments in DayZ

Met up with Fyah on the TX3 server so we could work in daylight, we met up between Balota and Komarovo, and as soon as we spotted eachother, a horde spawned in and set after Fyah. He started running and I followed until he made a stand and started shooting them, once he was dry I picked off the rest - except for one, a hopper that I emptied my remaining magazine into, but he kept coming. We decided to try to outrun him and hide. So we ran a couple hundred yards and went prone in some trees, only to see the hopper, slowly but surely make his way right for us. Out of ammo, and both of us are beat up a bit.

Eventually I remembered that I might have a spare mag in my backpack, went into inventory and grabbed it, I reloaded and saw I had 2 rounds left in the magazine and used one of them to put a bullet in the hoppers head. One round left.

We went southwest to the Komarovo docks and were crawling slowly towards the compound to look for anything we could find with only a few zombies in our way. Suddenly a new player spawned in amd brought a horde with him right in front of us and the zombies went after him as he ducked, weaved, and fired. Eventually he stopped standing still in the middle of a field to check his inventory (I assume).

So, I crept up behind him, I had one bullet left...kill or be killed... And we needed his ammo. Took careful aim at the back of his head, squeezed the trigger to commit my first murder, and...nothing? He still stood there. A few seconds later he came out of inventory, and started moving around, seeing both Fyah and me covering him, oblivious both to the bullet that apparently went clean through his head and the fact that our guns were empty... We wrote a simple "friendly!" in chat and whistled innocently as we shuffled away slowly while trying to look like we had lots of ammo.

    Good times.

And as far as anyone knows, I'm innocent of all crimes.

You can't kill people if they're accessing their inventory? Or was that just a bug?

            Re: Moments in DayZ

Coming back from a raid on Stary Sobor the server reset and only 2 of us came back and wanted to continue on to TGtopia at night. We made it as far as the pond outside of Kabanino where we literally walked into the pond. Then Bear was eaten by the dead when a jumper spotted him working around the pond. I thought I had gotten away clean but 2 more jumped me and knocked me down to 3300 blood. Blurry vision barely able to read the compass I figured I was a goner...

I heard a TG southern group forming up around Mogilevka on another server. I hooked up with them SW of Stary Sobor and still blurry I went back to Stary with them. Only to bump into someone and get knocked out with my blood level dropped down to 886. I walked out into the street and pretty much stood there looking around while the rest looted what they could find.

Then I passed out and thought "This is really bad". I got up and passed out again. I told them "They need to take my gear because I'm not likely to make it out of here alive" and they argued. I got up and the group was gathering at the church to move out when I passed out again and this time couldn't get up no matter what I tried. They gave me a fresh steak that got my blood up to 1686 still couldn't move. I told them "I can't get up and to take my gear I had some items they could use."

Then one of them popped a cap in me and they finally took my gear.

I told them at that point "I was just happy I'd made it to a TG group to give back my gear before I died." :D

              Re: Moments in DayZ

A week ago I was trying to link up with my 2 bros along the southern coast, the fact that it was dark and one of them was still pretty green meant it took a few hours and we eventually linked up above the power lines in elektro. One of my buddies had to run and the other decided to log off for a bit so instead of twiddling my thumbs I decided to test my lone stalker capabilities in elektro. I check the building near the powerplant and come out empty handed so I decide to delve deeper into the town.

I come across an empty house and across the street I see what I think is a police station, and I see someone has popped a flare on the the street to the left of this building. So I sat and waited to see If anymore flares were coming to hopefully get a better location on the guy but none come. After about 30 minutes of darkness I decide fortune favors the bold and make a break across the street to the police station.

Once inside I clear the building of hostiles, no contacts to be found so I relax a little bit and start searching the rooms. Find an ak with 3 mags on the third floor, awesome I'll be taking that. Then I hear it, the faint sound of boots on concrete. I figure more then likely this dude is going to kill me for my beans. And I can't allow that to happen so I try and find a spot to ambush him, nothing happens I no longer hear footsteps. Decide its time to maybe readjust to get a better view of the floors below. Then it happens, a survivor pops up at the top the stairs. Adrenaline dump causes me to full auto my ak at this man while running and screaming at him in direct...until i hear the click of the empty mag. I see no body near me must have missed everyshot.

Now I'm in trouble I've announced my location and made myself seem hostile to at least one person. I yell out through direct that I was sorry and that he had frightened me and get no response. Great, so I wait awhile. hoping that its clear I try descending the ladder. Halfway down I get tagged by some pistol rounds, ah hell climb the ladder back up quick as my feet will take me bandage morphine painkillers. Then I hear what sounds like an enfield popping off shots then a mak returning fire I decide now is the time to scedaddle.

Hit the same ladder and start running to the bushes near that old apartment complex, as i hit the bushes I get tagged again. Dropped and rolled near the bush and didnt receive any more rounds. So i fix myself again, and start crawling as far from that place as I can. Find a decent bush hide in it. passing out everyso often I realise theres no way I'm making it out alive. Call up my bros on aim tell them my best guestimate on my location. Miraculously they are able to find me and fix me up.

We move to a nearby ridge that overlooked that police station, we see 2 guys on the roof of the building. The second tango moves indoors while my buddy gets his sight on the first one on the highest roof. Tell him to send it, drops in one hit. Then we heard an all to familiar sound. Here comes the hoard...we start running backwards only stopping to shoot as were trying to move to the treeline near the mountain. Twenty, thirty zombies I start to lose count. Then to my left I see a man taking potshots at my buddys with his pistol. Drop him with my ak. We keep moving bounding up the hillside, we were all pretty rattled at that point.

Decide to start our journey north...

I was down to about 1500 blood after I took that last round, I'm just glad my bros were around and able to help.

                    Re: Moments in DayZ

Damote, age 10 days, passed away Saturday inside a barn on the outskirts of Prigorodky after a brief battle with a bandit.

Damonte had met up with fallen(age 30 minutes) and Fyah(age 40 minutes) only moments before, and had safely escorted them down a hill to a farmstead. After discovering the remains of what appeared to be a large battle between multiple groups and very well equipped dead players, he and his group cleaned their corpses of their useful items, some very valuable. Damonte, fallen, and Fyah made their way to the barn, and discovered even more dead players, and additional great loot. It was while raiding one of these corpses that a bandit equipped only with a Mak9 pistol cowardly shot Damonte multiple times. Damote raised his rifle in defiance and shot the bandit dead - saving his comrades - but tragically succumbing to his wounds shortly after.

Surviving are fallen, Fyah, and the sweet sweet M4 rifle with a red dot scope Fyah snatched from Damonte's still gushing corpse.

(Shortly thereafter the server crashed and many things were unfortunately lost :()

Spawned in Krustove Cap, found a bunch of ammo and a Winchester on a body 30 feet away, good start. I start heading west down the road (it's dead of night btw). Someone says that he looking to pair up and head north, so i seek him out since i just started a new character. I meet him in the hill north of kamyshova, he sees my winchester, but doesn't shoot. I say i know where some good spawn points are, when i turn my back on him, he unloads his pistol into me pointblank and kills me. Says thank you for the shot gun.

I spawn back in, just east of Kamyshovo, i see him and his friend walking out of the forest, so i decide to calmly sneak along. I follow them until the edge of Elek, when they start sneaking by zombies, with me following behind about 50 feet away. When they slow down, i get within range and chuck a road flare in between the two. As planned, one of them fires off a round as a surprise, and the zombies swarm them. I sit back and watch them fend off the zombie attack, and one is knocked unconscious, while the dude with my winchester is still standing. While he is patching himself up, i walk up behind him and plug two shots into his head, take my winchester back, and put two more rounds into each of their heads again while they are lying on the ground.

The same old story, spawned on the coast and went looking for some beans.
Woke up the wrong people and got chased down to the docks.
                        Hilarity ensues.......
