    Re: The GG thread

    I'll start.

Last night I got on the server after a long day at the office and in traffic. I was kinda frustrated by my day and was looking to get on and decompress.

Started up on Beruit as IDF. The team Was doing ok with DB leading inf, Jaymz as the IFV SL and Brett on infi / contact magnet.

Now since I entered the round late I didn't get to do too much to help the team, which was a shame. That said towards the end we got the whole team on defence in one compound. I had about 6 guys at the time. DB had the same while jaymz who switched to infi had about 4.

While we were bunkered down 2 Mi-8 transport choppers started circling us doing cas runs. Stuck and without AA we forulated a plan to start taking them down.

With everyone hiding inside a building or in cover we waited till the choppers got close. On command everyone, about 25 people, popped out and started emptying magizines into the choppers bringing 3 of them down before the round ended. We lost but...

    GG

Next round after that I had a fresh start. We had a few good SLs left on the team and we sorted our selfs out to work togther. Disposable got 5 dudes and ran 2 strykers. Jafar graves 5 men as did I and we ran attached to dispo. That left Brett to regain his title of bullet and ied magent ;).

We had several great assaults and ended up winning the round a few of them stood out as my GG moments.

1st with Brett on point after a nasty Gary accident we headed into the city on foot. My sq of 6 follwed by jafar's sq covering our rear.

As we all headed west we saw Brett up ahead about 2 blocks. After I closed my map and started walking we all heard "KABOOM" quickily checking the map we noticed bretts sq didn't exist any more. With Jafar covering both sqs set about getting to Brett. We set up 360 degree coverage on the intersection Brett's sq went down at. It's a good thing we did too as the whole motorpool section of the INS team decended on us. With everyone callling out contacts and all if us sticking to task of getting Brett up. We fought off waves of technicals and random insurgents. Finnaly getting everyone up and moving on.

    GG

An hour or so after that we again were on the cache hunt. This time Brett was just north of the new "known" city cache. Jafar, dispo and myself decides to use the speed of the Strykers to get us in right on the cache while the enmy was drawn away by Brett.

We mounted up and drove to the city staying far ftom the cache area to the west. Once we were on the same street as the cache we headed east, still mounted, and burned rubber to an area 1 block away from the cache.

We all dismounted and worked our way in slow and unseen. We garbed the major intersection near the cache and held. With jafar on point am my sq covering we blasted our way in, knocked out the cache and quickly mounted up. Leaving the area with no casulitys.

    GG

The last round of the night wad Iron Eagle. This one was a full on blitzkreig assault without any flag rushing. Which I thought was sweet.

I only had about an 40 min to play so I started am aromr sq with 3 other guys. The Idea was to try and help the team while having fun at the same time. This ment one thing "Angry Tank". For those who don't know angry tank is angry. He won't stop and is unable to control his rampid blood lust.

We haulled ass down the map to
our 2nf flag with the rest of the team making sure our first got capped without a struggle. By the time our tanks got down the the city ( the second flag) the enemy had capped it. At this point an inteligent tank sq would stop. Gain eyes on and spot for AT and armor threats. We were not that sq.

With recless abandon we crested the first hill in a 2 tank line formation. A quick look with theramal spotted 6 dudes in thenopen walking down the street. Given the order to fire gore tossed then thru the air with a heat round. On thermal it looked like bunch of white confetty being tossed around. As we blindingly advanced into the city we noticed the reinforcents coming by balckhawk and octos tank quickly swatted them out the sky like so many flys.

Soon we capped the flag and it was just a quick push to the odd main from there. Scoring some tank kills in the process.

    GG

sorry for gramer and spelling on the iPhone and I'm retarded which is a bad combo.

Last night on Ramiel the US team was on the ball. Two strikers and two inf squads working together, rolling up on caches and steam rolling them. My squad wasnt that successful, but we were able to point the team in the right direction for some caches and distract the cache defense guys while the others moved in. Great teamwork, and communication by the team, and all without a CO.

        Re: The GG thread

        Oh! I'll play along!!

Joined at the end of Beirut. Played medic. Helped Brett's squad for a while until I could link back up with my squad (I spawned in on a FOB a good 300m away from my squad with a BTR between us). After linking spent the majority of my round reviving the fallen and healing them. We lost by 30 tickets but had quite a few laughs as we brought down at least 2 Russian choppers with concentrated small-arms fire.

        Ramiel loaded.

I started up a stryker squad with |TG-X|Ristin, Octo-Crab and Karsiss. We had a 5th member for a while but these guys were with me the entire time.

We were to operate in conjunction with Cougar and Jafar as a mechanized infantry unit. We successfully transported our charges in and out of harms way to assault several caches. I believe we only lost 3 strykers, with the first going down to an SVG-technical ambush as it was RTB (Octo and Karsiss). Ristin and I were busy slaying bodies in stand-off positions outside of the city, using terrain to our advantage for both defense against car-bombs and other assaults. We moved often to avoid mortar fire, as we were generally spotted rather quickly by the enemy collaborators. As tempting as it was, we did not engage these individuals as they were "unarmed".

We were tracked twice during combat operations. Luckily for us we had awesome infantry protection during these times and even more awesome support from our logistics squad (Imachicken and Bullseye if memory serves correctly). In both cases we were able to repair and retreat to our airfield base to complete repairs and deliver our charges back to base safely.

It was during our assault on the final cache position that Ristin and I suffered our only stryker loss. We were struck by an rpg from a rooftop as Ristin was unable to sight in this threat before he could hit us. While still able to move effectively, our weakened hull succumbed to a proximity blast from Gary as HE assaulted the infantry surrounding the cache location.

After this, Ristin and I joined the fight on foot and managed to engage in small-arms exchanges with the armed insurgent populace. Shortly afterward the round ended.

I was happy with the performance of my squad as we utilized our strykers effectively and as they were intended: first and foremost as troop transports and infantry support, secondly as body slayers. I believe the squad KDR was like~60-4/5. I forget the exact ratio and I don't really care. The important part was that we worked very well within the team framework, executed our mission with great success, supported our dismounted infantry with great effect, and most importantly, had a LOT of fun and laughs along the way.

It was nice way to spend 2 1/2 hours of my free time relaxing after a long day. Thanks to both teams for a great match, and I look forward to rejoining the fight with all of you again soon.

          Sudden... lol!

Almost every round on TG is a GG. All you have to do in order to restore your positivity is go play on another server for 10 or 15 minutes. (sometimes 5)

Yeah those strykers were on the ball... I knew it had to be a pro. I tried to kill them about 30 times... and i think i died 29 of those times. The only one we got that I remember was the RTB smoking stryker who drove past us and didn't see us hiding on the other side of the hill. The whiskey kicked in early and I didn't finish that map, but it was still a lot of fun.

I think alot of the sucess the strykers saw was in the way they transported. We moved in quick, dropped off, then dispo split. Moving away from us to a defensive postion till he was called in to either extract or slay bodys.

Thanks for sharing guys. Post up some more when you can.

                Burning Sands 11/2/2010 8:30ish-nearly10ish

                MEC Team
                BestdamnInf Squad [6]

Fun match I must say despite everything falling apart in the last 30 minutes.

After attempting to push into Arar (Farm House north of MEC Airport) my supply truck, along with its IFV escorts were ambushed and destroyed by a pre-emptive Challenger around India 7. Then realizing that we could not secure that flag I position my squad, which grew from 2 people to 6 over the first five minutes, to the Northern Airport Flag (I don't know its real name). While our team recovers from the British blitz that took our Munitions Plant we built 1 FO and a ton of razorwire/foxholes, and one of each asset.

The TOW was positioned to cover the main gate, while our AA was in a hidden location, to be used as an counter measure system against any diving Apaches or landing transports. Razorwire was positioned liberally but only in places where it could provide use, two British infantry men who were dropped off by a doomed Lynx would know what I'm talking about, they ran straight into it before dying to my LMG positioned in an ATC Tower. (devilish smile) Fox holes were also placed liberally in anticipation of mortar strikes (that never came surprisingly). Finally, I had a combat engineer place a ton of mines in the Northern Gate entrance (which, if I might add is a bit bare and maybe Rudd can make it pretty, like a vehcile checkpoint).

The British attack came in three distinct waves, one was an early attempt to drop off trops by Chinnook near the Airport Terminal, south of my forces. This one was defeated by my squad and a tank. A second attempt was in three parts, the first was an attempted Chinnok from the north at the ATC Towers which was destroyed by an AA system before deployment, I believe Silly Savage was among the dead. The second part was another Chinnook attempt which ended with full deployment (but full enemy casualties) and what I can assume to be a downed Chinnook due to the flaming rotors. The final part was the above mentioned Lynx drop (in which two infantry died by my wires/LMG) which again was destroyed by our AA system and the infantry was also dealt with. Each and every attempt resulted in full enemy casualties and no extensive damage to our position.

While we were defending our armor squads and only other infantry squad moved out to attack the Munitions Bunker (leaving only 6 people defending that point for nearly thirty minutes). The result was a prolonged battle that ended in defeat due to a dug in position (I can only wonder the result of the round had we not lost that flag) and the squad leader of the infantry CTDing while enroute. This marked the beginning of the end for the MEC armed forces in that region.

With the casualties taken from the attack on Munitions Bunker, the MEC team never fully recovered its armor ability, and no longer was morale high enough among the squad leaders to coordinate serious efforts. My squad's firm grasp on the Airport was loosened by an unchecked flanking assault from our East, by which I can only guess one enemy squad paraded through a kilometer sized gap of no MEC presence. This squad would push North West and into the Airport's Terminal, destroying our Rear FO, before moving and hitting us from the south while armor pounded us from the north (our Havok had done a damn good job protecting that flank, taking two tanks out and an AAV from the East before going down itself). During this point another attack was underway on the Munitions Bunker but was yet again unsucessful despite JDAM usage.

With my squad fully vanquished from the Airport, we retreated south bound for a final stand at the Airport Bunkers. There we died with honor against imesurable odds.

I had taken a screen shot to commemorate my fallen comrades but a black sreen is all that came from it. So cheers to those unknown soldiers; A wonderful group who fought tooth and nail to victory and ultimately defeat!

                Good Game

                  Re: The GG thread

I had a pretty great time last night on Barracuda. Joining on US about halfway, my squad was defending the Control Tower at the airfield. We fought off several waves of Chinese attackers, even while being gunned down by our own APCs. (our medic was on the ball and saved us many times) Eventually we fell to mounting pressure, even as the next flag point was captured so we could move off.

Spawning in at a FOB near Docks, we headed over to the Swamp and managed to fight the Chinese team off, hold it amidst a barrage of friendly CAS strikes and continued to fight over the area when the round ended in a win!

Kudos to my squad, though I can't remember who they were. No names that I recognize; regulars and TG-tags aren't necessary to play a great round!

                    This man speaks the truth!

I also had a GG that round. My high point was not killing or taking fire or anything like that. For me it was beach fort.

The enemy were all in the tunnels. Im unsure how many (I'd guess more than 1 SQ but less than 2). Insted of charging into a fatal funnel and letting the chinese mop us up we just massed units on top. This effectivly cut off their reinforcments and supplys. After about 25min we were able to get enough units on top to start turning the flag without having to engage the enemy below us. Eventualy when the the flag went grey the chinese started trying to come out of the tunnel into the waiting scopes of USMC troops.

It was the perfect way to exucte that flag. Kudos to Jafar for cordinating that flag for the team as CO and having the patience to not order us into the breach.

                      Re: The GG thread

I have to comment on Portable's first AAR on Ramiel. My squad driving a Humvee and Logi linked up with the Strykers and Portable asked my squad would lead the way and let the Strykers back us up. We went on ahead out to the NE of the map, building a FOB along the way I sent my Logi back to reload. The rest of my squad parked our Humvee and proceeded on foot into town when we heard the rumble of Gary. I was ahead of the squad working my way to the T building on the N side of town and Gary got between my squad and myself and detonated. Took us all down. The Strykers rolled up after that, we had went too far out in front of them. After spawning in on a FOB Bulls had built (Bulls you did an awesome job keeping the FOB's going). My squad took a N trek going W with Portable and Jafar's S going W. We were scoping out S of us as we were a bit ahead and Gary drove up on us again and detonated, that was the Kaboom, squad down again!!!! Thanks Portable for you guys getting us back up.
The round was fun although I know my squad was probably a bit frustrated as we tried to draw attention so that others could get in and take the cache. We got trapped in a garage just N of a cache and defended as best we could. I was last man left with Manibou (not in my squad) we defended further and I finally got to my squads medic kit. I tried to revive but everytime I started we would get more enemy down on us. Finally the two of us decided to go for the cache. I ran interference for Manibou who got the cache. I went down but Portable and Jafar couldn't make it to me and got Manibou and evac'd out of the area. It was a great round, although I felt like I had a target on me while walking around the map especially for the Gary's.
