    Where?
    Beruit January 12, 2011

    How?

This was a round where 1 squad continually made the difference for the team, making the difference between being over run totally and a near victory.

The round started with the squad rolling out to capture the first 2 flags and moving on to the train depot. Meeting the enemy there, the squad fought singlehandedly to defend a foot hold there, against the entire Russian team. After holding them off for nearly 10 minutes, we were forced to retreat. The firebase built fell to the enemy as they overran our position.

The IDF team basically fell apart as the next flag fell to the Russians in turn with no cohesive team defense. The squad counterattacked and was instrumental in regaining the momentum, pushing the Russian team back to a defense of train depot. We continued to counterattack, building north of train and establishing a significant firebase presence there. The position was well built by Brettwad, and we defended it for a significant time with both TOW and AA assets. The squad took out several choppers, APCs and infantry assaults in turn. Eventually, the Russians resorted to artillery to silence the presence, although half the squad survived the onslaught to move out in good order to a consolidation point.

The squad regrouped and assaulted train depot. We successfully eliminated all resistance lead on point by Tom King. After clearing out the enemy, we took the flag and were on the verge of taking the game, having come back from a huge deficit in points. The round ended close at 37-0. Even though the team lost in points, I feel the squad effort of this group was central to the almost win and return from an almost total rout at the beginning of the round.

I think the squad demonstrated excellent cohesion and teamwork in the face of the entire Russian team at times. Brettwad's leadership and the discipline of the squad deserve recognition with this award.

Total squad score was 10926. Kills: 32 Deaths: 3 APCs Killed: 3 Helicopters Killed: 3

Goodjob guys. Personally, I find Beruit one of the hardest maps to play on; that's no small feat.
