  • Grid-Location tip.

I was playing last week when some genius (don’t remember who) reported an enemy movement on the grid in such an obvious way I froze for a minut just wondering why I have never heard anyone do this before.

    Just use the NumPad.

So instead of going: “on the right site of G4 upper corner” just report: “enemy in G4 numpad 9”

wow... very outside the box - love it!

although, compass directions would work too... "enemy in NW of G4"

I heard someone say something like that and I was wondering what this guy was on about.
Good idea to whoever it is though.

It's becoming common practice now, I hope more people learn this method. I only know a few people that understand me when I use it :(

I've heard it, even before .7, and decided to start using it myself. I think it is an excellent way to narrow down the location of the enemy. As a matter of fact, it should be and will be added to our TGU courses for infantry and sl.

I too heard someone using it sometime last week, they were giving out numpad locs and my squadmates were asking "what's a numpad lock?"

              The question must be asked...
If someone called out B2, numberpad "enter" would that really be C2 numberpad 1? or C3 numberpad 7?

If someone called that out, they wouldn't be doing it right :).

Only use the numbers on the keypad as reference since everyone's number keys should look the same. Everything around it could be radically different on some people's keyboards (eg the enter key and + - keys)

I invented and patented this numpad stuff you're all talking about, send me my money now.

                        Thanks for the tip!

...Its the same as a calculator, Mr. Laptop. even drawing a picture on a sticker on the laptop with the keypad helps with the communications.

I would have just said F6 in that case tbh but I appreciate the example.

I dont have a keypad either, I have my mouse pad where that would be as its more comfortable

I'll remember to go grab a calc if it becomes important though

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.
