  • Female PR players?

I've played PR for about a year and have not once encountered a female player. I've met people who I thought were girls, but, never a real one. I have experience in other games for both the Xbox and PC including Halo 3, COD4, BHD (Old PC Game) and even vBf2 where I would sometimes bump into one. But, why never in PR?

What are your thoughts about why not?

    Do you know any?

Maybe because PR offers a new gaming style that doesn't apeal to those groups of gamers.

    I have no idea...

They don't play PR because they are busy being responsible while we get our playtime :P

                Re: Female PR players?

I'm actually curious as to why some shooters seem to have respectable female player populations, while others do not. TF2, for instance, seems to have more female players (at least, more of them who decide to use VOIP) than any other shooter I've played. It might have something to do with the fact that you don't have idiotic 12 year olds frothing over the mic spewing innuendo whenever they figure out a woman is in the game, but it's still an interesting question regardless.

In general, though, shooters and strategy games tend to be very male dominated. Maybe the lack of female players is because PR is so far into the "hardcore shooter" side of the spectrum?

I dunno. It's an interesting question. Just because I'm a game design nut, I've got to wonder if it's something intrinsic about shooters that turns most girls off of them, or if it's something part of the shooter culture, or if it's just common design decisions nobody bothers to rethink.

Of course, the LOGICAL answer would be to find a female gamer and ask THEM, instead of mindlessly musing about demographics.

I've never seen a female player in PR (ok, I admit, I don't play it very frequently either though), but I've seen some in 2142. They definitely exist. It's not a myth. Trust me.

In other news, the reason you don't think theres many girls is because you're afraid to call them a girl because of all the kids that play here with high voices that are guys. GI|Akuza (or some variation) Is a girl but i thought was a 13 year old guy ( like me).
