Air Cavalry Specialist: cola88 (Class II)

    Who?
    |TG-X| Cola

    What?
    Distinguished Attack Helo gunner

    Where?
    Kashan 32 map

    When?
    September 21st

    How?
During the map Cola persistantly denied the enemy team South village due to his exellent gunnery skills, whenever i spotted a target for lasing i waited no longer than 3 seconds before it was dead, He kept the helo alive in numerous attacks due to being a faster gunner than an AA enplacement. They had defended south village for close to 10mins while the rest of the team floundered before they were shot down due to being attacked by 2 apaches, which they shot one of down. By the end of the round he had ammassed approx 90 (though on my screen it could be 70 but thats not the point) i believe that this is due to exellent skills.

Thanks guys and i really hope you award these ribbons, they are really deserved, and i think they worked as a team brilliantly.

    Medic Specialist: Dr. Zoidberg

    Medical Specialist

    Project Reality

Saturday Sept. 27 TG vs TTP scrim

I would like to nominate DocZoidIV for the "Distinguished Medic" ribbon. During the scrim on Muttrah agains TTP his preformance was "Exemplary". I fully expected to be keeping the squad leader alive during the match, and instead, it seemed that he was keeping both of us, and the rest of the squad up. On many occasions, one or several players would go down, and with complete calm he would state "I'll get you in a second." I would hear several 3 round bursts, which I can assume was him taking down the enemy that had just wounded me followed the piercing of the epipen in my thigh. Calmly he would say "Heal yourself... OK". It was like allowing a drowning man the small amount of dignity after you have dragged him all the way to shore, to allow him to pull his own self up the bank.He was calm, effective, and his communication skills were above par.
    Who: llPANCHOll, Dr. Zoidberg

When: September 27th, TG vs. TTP Scrimmage

    Details:

Due to their outstanding efforts during the scrimmage against Texas Team Players as squad medics, I would like to nominate both llPANCHOll and Dr. Zoidberg for the Medic Specialist Ribbon, Class I.

Our squad was assigned to the role of being one of the two infantry squads that would push the attack on the MEC forces. We were to take ground and hold it for reinforcements, then continue the push on the enemy. In doing so, we would be without a close rally point for support, so the key to our success lay in large part to the effectiveness of our medics. These two were beyond effective in fulfilling their roles.

There are several instances where these two players distinguished themselves in their roles and proved worthy of this distinction. Many times we met enemy resistance and lost a squad member or two to enemy fire before they could be neutralized. Our medics were fearless in their combat ability to neutralize the threats and then worked tirelessly in tandem reviving their fallen teammates and healing them back to a combat effective state. Not only did they keep our squad intact, they also were quick to react to other fallen teammates not in our squad, proving their worth as not only great squad mates, but as total team players. They communicated with one another at all times, letting each other know who they were reviving and where threats were, and they also communicated extremely well with those that they were reviving, telling them where to move when they were revived so they could be healed under cover.

It is with great pride that I submit this nomination for llPANCHOll and Dr. Zoidberg for Distinguished Medic, Class I, as they truly represented the best of what TG has to offer against another gaming community and showing what teamwork is all about.

    What?
    Distinguished Attack Helo piolet

    Where?
    Kashan 32 map

    When?
    September 21st

    How?
During this round i was impressed by kats ability to fly and he seemed to be able to line up his gunners shot perfectly, without exposing himself to enemy AA . Whenever I spotted a target (i was the spotter most of the game) it was killed swiftly, I believe this was due to kats superb flying aswell as Colas exellent gunnery skills. They defended SV for close to 10 mins while the rest o the team floundered before they were shot down due to being attacked by 2 apaches, which they shot one of down and i believe for an attack helo to have done this is no mean feat.

    Distinguished Defense: Charity_Case (Class II)

    Who: Charity_Case and Fuzzhead.

Where/when: TG vs TTP scrim Muttrah City as MEC

Why: These two squad leaders showed their skills in leading a defense of a flag. At north City, Fuzzhead was attacked by a large force from the south. With the aid of charity, the two squads were able to repel the enemy force all the way back to their firebase(which was destroyed). Not once did the flag turn gray.

Fuzzhead then defended well at the docks flag. Despite my attempts to get some squads to cover the western flank of docks, only one was really able to comply. This SL was fuzzhead whose squad repelled alot of infantry coming in from the northwest.

These two gentlemen preformed excellently during the scrim.

    Combat Action: Chalcas, Sonic

What: Distinguished Combat Action Ribbon, Distinguished Special Operations Ribbon
    Who:|TG-irr|Sonic; TG magicfloatingorb
Where: Muttrah City, TG vs. TTP scrimmage #2
    When: 27 September 2008

Why: I've never written two ribbon nominations for the same people over the same situation, but I can't help myself. My squad members Sonic and Magicfloatingorb took a great deal of initiative and masterfully fought their way through Muttrah city, out-gunned 95% of the time, and almost always came out the victors. These two gentlemen singlehandedly fought against one, two and even three squads at a time all by themselves, and their mastery of the game, use of teamwork and coordination was astounding. Our three-man squad had over 58 kills, surpassing almost all the other squads in the game, including 6-man designated infantry squads. They capped one flag singlehandedly (a feat that is amazing in and of itself considering the difficulty of capturing flags in PR), as well as neutralizing an enemy firebase and at least two squads defending it. At one point the two of them were singlehandedly holding off a majority of the enemy team at their main base as I had gone down early, giving the rest of the team crucial time to advance. These two men were quick to follow all comm orders given to them, moving silently when needed and opening fire exactly where and when they were told, executing their orders with masterful precision. The truth is, I have never never seen such cohesion come from a game of Project Reality before, and if it were not for these two men I believe the rest of the team would have had a much more difficult time advancing upon and overwhelming the enemy team. These two gentlemen not only deserve the Distinguished Special Operations ribbon for their prowess and knowledge in the ways of Special Forces in Project Reality, but also the Distinguished Combat Action ribbon for their masterful display of combat tactics against superior numbers and firepower.

    Distinguished Tactician: Portable.Cougar

    What: Distinguished Tactician, Class I

    Who: |TG-X|Portable.Cougar

    Why:

Portable.Cougar was responsible for devising the successful strategy implemented by TG against Texas Team Players in the scrimmage played on 9/27/08 for the USMC portion of the scrimmage.

For weeks prior to scrimmage, Cougar was working on his plan for the US portion of the match. He shared his plan with members of the team and we would work on it during public play, refining and altering the plan until any potential problems had been worked out and Cougar could easily communicate the plan to the rest of the team. He offered the plan up to the CO of the US team and it was accepted and implemented as the plan for the scrimmage. Cougar provided additional guidance and oversight on the plan, was there to lead practices prior to the scrimmage, and helped refine the plan more as the rest of the team became involved. He was responsible for setting up the extremely effective teamspeak communications that allowed squad leaders to communicate with one another and other squads while not burdening the CO or each squad leader with all of the coms by assigning a squad member of each squad to act in the role of radio operator with the CAS squad. This alone was a stroke of genius and will prove to be a template for future scrimmages at TG.
Cougar organized the team into an effective force utilizing each player's strengths and putting them in to roles that best suited their abilities. This was done with the overall strategy in mind, giving this plan the best chances of success.

Cougar has earned this distinction due to his incredibly hard work planning for the ultimate success of his team, thinking outside of the box, and effective usage of all resources available. It is my honor to nominate Portable.Cougar for this ribbon, it is entirely deserved.
My Ribbon Nominations for TacticalGamer.com members on the USMC side during round one of the Second round of TG Vs. TTP on September 27th 2008, with the map played being Muttrah City is below. If there are any questions regarding clarification I would be more than happy to answer them via PM or on TS.

For the Distinguished Tactician Class I Award I would like to nominate the following players:

    |TG-X|Portable.Cougar

Portable.Cougar took the time to create the squad assignments and formations that were planned perfectly for Teamspeak usage on excel. As the Commander I went over this plan with him, and I stand by his plan of attack, it was monumental in crippling TTP’s confidence and using mechanized infantry in the way it is supposed to be used, as well as using and paying attention to detail with kit assignments for each of the 8 squads which were written out. This particular attention to detail allowed each squad to easily obtain the kits that were assigned to them so there was no fear that x kit would not be available when the time came. His planning was vital and his tactics proved to be as important as the players who participated.

Distinguished Squad Leader: w.Warehouse (Class II)

    Who: AFsoccer, w.Warehouse, Portable.Cougar

When/Where: TG vs TTP round 2 Muttrah City as MEC

Why: These three showed off their skills as excellent squad leaders during the Scrim.

AFsoccer: Once Docks was captured, AFsoccer was able to lead his squad to defend the shores directly north of Docks which directly denied many of the enemy team's assets (APCs mainly).

w.Warehouse: He really deserves a ribbon most of all. His original plan was to set up a Foward Firebase in a position to assault docks. Due to some confusion, he was not able to get his support truck. However, he was still able to seize that piece of land and was constantly under attack however he was able to hold for a long time. Later he set up another excellent firebase along the Cargo Ship which again denied enemy air assets.

Portable.Cougar: Cougar was able to lead an assault by himself on docks and held it by himself(his squad) for a good 10 minutes without any friendly support. He then helped defend Docks until the end of the game.

These three showed their skill as an SL and in some cases, were able to preform at 100% while under great duress.

    Armor Specialist: TheSkudDestroyer

    Who: TheSkudDestroyer and Zaboo.

Where/when: TG vs TTP scrim Muttrah City as MEC

Why: These two were best described as cavalry during that round. First off, our base was being heavily baseraped around the time the APC spawned. Zaboo and Skud were able save the APC (which was under threat from C4) and repel the baserapers for good. They then continued to take out 2 hostile firebases, enemy APCs, and provided support for the infantry on the ground.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Distinguished Squad Leader: thegreatnardini

During the Project Reality TTP vs TG scrim Nardini was put in-charge of a Special Operations squad in replace for Blonov. Due to the short notice, Nardini was at first lost as to what the goals and objectives of this squad were. But, he quickly developed a plan and course of action. We soon learned the role of Spec Ops unit was not going to be as effective as we hoped. So, we began acting as a 3 man infantry squad. Nardini led us through countless hostiles, while we disrupted the movements of several hostile squads and moved swiftly through the city. At times we were just as, or even more effective than a full 6 man squad. Nardini used quick thinking to find cover or to flank the enemy, which would usually result in success. We also helped capture two flags. Nardini kept his cool and showed a lot of leadership. By the end of the scrimmage we ended up with about 60 kills (as much as a full squad) and a positive K/D ratio. It was a fantastic round.

If there are any questions regarding clarification I would be more than happy to answer them via PM or on TS.

I would like to nominate the following Tactical Gamer players for ribbons for their exemplary work while playing on the side of the USMC during the Tactical Gamer vs. Texas Team Players Match on September 27th 2008.

For the Distinguished Tactician Class II Award I would like to nominate the following players:

    |TG-X|D1sposableh3ro

These Individuals are the reason why TG was so successful as a team against TTP during the first round of the match.

D1sposablehero created maps that showed the best possible places to create Firebases/Bunkers and paid particular attention on the distances of each one, so that a new one could be placed without having to demolish the previous one. D1sposable also took the time to create an easy illustration so each squad member knew what helicopter he would be taking on the Aircraft carrier, upon the start of the map.
The vivid and intricate detail’s that were used were perfect and made it that much easier for players to understand where they were going, how they were going to get there and who was going to take which flag at which time and build each firebase.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    |TG-X|||Pancho||

These Individuals are the reason why TG was so successful as a team against TTP during the first round of the match.

    ||Pancho|| went above and beyond the call of duty in preparation for this match. ||Pancho|| not only took time out of his day to take screenshots of the perfect places to build firebases in the most intricate spots that could not be seen by the enemy even if they were standing right next to them, but ||Pancho|| brought map making to a whole new level for this match. Pancho used google maps, and wrote out every street name in the exact location it was mentioned on the actual map of Muttrah City.
He also filled in the streets that had no names with easy to read names which than able to understand and in fact memorize. His naming of the streets was something I had never seen before, and the fact that he did this made my job communicating toe squad leaders that much easier during the match itself. I was able to direct squads to the exact location of enemy movements using street names instead of the keypad system. With street names in place, I made it my goal and required all players of the match to familiarize themselves with the street names and to have copies next to them, I instructed them that I would not be using the grid system and would only be using the names, which only aided in our victory. I only hope that this sort of attention to detail gains recognition and future versions of PR has street names included.

The following players are nominated for the Volunteer Class II Ribbon

    |TG-X|D1sposableh3ro – I would like to nominate D1sposableh3ro for the Volunteer Class II Ribbon for allowing this match to take place. D1sposableh3ro stepped up to the plate after Dirtboy was deployed, and helped make sure this match happen on schedule and at the appropriate time. D1sposable is a player that made himself available for every PR player that has visited the forums, Teamspeak and the server itself. Everyday he goes above the call of duty to help make a new player feel at home, and also takes the time out of his gaming to answer any questions anyone has. If d1sposable was a part of the admining community here at TG, then this match would not have made it to round 2 in 2008. D1sposable also setup the private server for members of TG, and made sure the match server was working properly for the start of the match. He really deserves a pat on the back.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't join a squad once and this guy named Nardini took me into the back room and beat me with a sock of oranges.

    Re: Ribbon Awards!

A dozen and a half ribbons in one thread. We need an efficiency ribbon.

A lot of great work going on there, it looks like. Saving assets from base rapers, turning a defence into an assault on the attackers, spec ops disruption shenanigans, sounds like a lot of teamwork went down that game.

    Great work, guys! Well deserved
