  • Weekly Award Winners

Please congratulate your fellow TG players on their achievements! Also, please remember it only takes a few minutes to nominate one of your teammates for a ribbon (see the link in my signature). Keep those nominations coming in.

    Jet Combat Specialist(class1)

    Who?
    MarineSeaknight

    What?
    Jet Combat Specialist

    Where?
    Kashan 64 aircraft layout (US)

    When?
    Oktober 31st

    How?
On Kashan's US Team Marine aka |TG-X|r3usabl3H3r0 flew the A10. He barely got shot down and thus provided the air superiority for the US for almost the entire round.
His Close Air Support crushed several T90s, Tunguskas and even enemy jets his strafing runs also successfully pounded enemy forticiactions and assaulting squads. Of course this would not have been possible without excellent intel provided by the several spotters scattered over the map. On the other hand his precision in taking out enemy armor by only being provided aproximate grid locations shows his advanced air cavalry and cas skill.
His coordination with his F16 wingman made it possible for them to avoid getting shot down and to keep the air superiority so the ground forces could focus on their main objectives. Although I do not know how many or whether he shot down enemy jets, I do know that he stayed alive which was his job as A10 bomber. Which indicates that he knew his role and importance to the team - qualifiing him as Jet Combat Specialist which also is about not risking the asset and knowing when it is better to stay alive and avoid fighting.

Even 3 enemy tanks flanking our main force have been taken out within 4 strave runs anihilating the enemy tank squad within approximatly 3 minutes after the spoting, no lazing support nor precise intel could be provided on these fast moving flankers and yet he managed to prevent severe damage to our team by eliminating this threat.

Without this precise and in-time close air support he changed the outcome of the battle significantly and I dare say that we wouldn't have been able to push the MEC back to SV and MECO without him.

    Distinguished Commander(class1)

    Who?
    Belhade

    What?
    Distinguished Commander

    Where?
    Kashan 64 aircraft layout

    When?
    Oktober 31st

    How?
After the map was in play for a good 1 1/2 h the US-Team had to deal with the problem of having no commander. Thus being pushed back all the way to "US Outpost" greyed.
It was at this time that Belhade realized the need of his team for a decent commander. He stepped up right away.
Although I have not been a SL and thus not been in direct contact with him his tactical finesse and leadership qualities were registered by me.
After stepping up he immidiately coordinated the team and designated squads to defend/attack/support the right locations. Making it possible for the US Team to recap Outpost and push bunkers after setting up defences.

He immidiately relayed vital information to the SLs and marked enemies on the map whether they got spotted by SLs or in the normal chat.
His situational awareness was good because the relaying of information worked so well and also because of his expertise and knowledge of the map itself.

His presence and competence, boosting my moral, had change the outcome of the battle significantly. Therefore I would like to nominate Belhade for doing an outstanding job as commander showing his tactical genius.

PS: thanks for the great round!

    Medic Specialist(class1)

    Who?
    |TG-X| Caffeine

    What?
    Distinguished Medic

    Where?
    Jabal

    When?
    Oktober 28, 2008

    How?
During attack and defend jabal, Caffeine as dedicated squad medic took out the attacking inf and revived our whole squad twice, so he saved the rp and possible the flag. (Caffeine: "i got him, the three").
    Who: |TG-X|caffeine

What: Distinguished Medic Class I (need to verify this)

    Why:

I would like to nominate |TG-X| caffeine for Distinguished Medic Class I for his outstanding performance as squad medic on Jabal Al Burj on 27-October-2008.

To be blunt, our squad would not have performed nearly as well as it did without the efforts of caffeine during this round. Considering that the USMC won the match by a score of 16-0, it is entirely possible that our team would have lost the match as well without his efforts.

Caffeine was tireless in his efforts to keep his squad healed, revived and in the fight. On several instances during the latter half of the battle caffeine single-handedly saved the squad by his efforts as we lost our rally point and every single man in the squad was down. Caffeine would maintain his composure, eliminate the enemy threats nearby (which, in one instance, consisted of 3 enemy soldiers), and calmly revived his fallen squad members. He ran out of epi-pens 3 times in about a 20-minute span. This equates to about 27 revives if I'm not mistaken. And his work didn't stop at just our squad. He would revive anyone who was down, not just our squad members.

For his selfless acts, his composure and courage under fire, caffeine has distinguished himself greatly and is most deserved of this distinction.

AAR for the round from which the nomination resulted

I gotta give my own thanks to MarineSeaKnight, my commanding of that round wouldn't have worked out so well if it hadn't been for his pummeling of the enemy armor!
