• "There is connection problem"

    Hello guys,

I keep getting some sort of message every ~30 sec for one second: "You have a connection problem". It goes away for after 1 second. I don't have this problem with other games. I have Vista if that does matter. Do I have to open ports? Is this a common problem?

    Thanks in advance!

Well, it's probably just your connection to the server that is weak. What is your average ping?

What type of connection are you using? Dial-up or Broadband or another?

Do you have any Firewalls or Computer protection up?

Best post it in technical issues forums

          Re: "There is connection problem"

I have broadband. I never had this problem before with the TG server, since I have a new comp, I suddenly have it :-\

And I have Windows Firewall, but disabled it, no difference.

Well It can't be ping, my ping is around 250-260 and I don't get any connection issues.

                Do you run off WLAN?
If thats the case you are probably suffering the auto-config "feature" of vista which is a pain in the #@$. It searches for new connections every 30 seconds even when you are connected to a signal which is the most retarded thing I've ever heard of as a feature. This causes you to lag every 30 seconds on anything that heavily uses your network connection such as online games. There is no fix to it really unless you have a third party wireless utility that doesn't require the auto config to be running. Only real fix is to move to a wired connection which I have done with a really long ethernet cable going across half of my house...

Damnit Blizzard, fix ZvT already >.<

Yeah, I am using WLAN. And no, not using any third party software. Hmm, I will look after this. Another reason to hate Vista - sigh.

                    Re: "There is connection problem"

If he is living in the Netherlands and getting 110 ping then all I can say is I wish I had that speed he has. I live maybe 300 miles from the server and get 64 ping if I am lucky.

Due to the distance there may be some issues.

Lately(within the past week) I been having problems losing connection apparently with EA server, I will lose connection and it says something like server lost connection and I have to log back in. Also When loading certain maps I will get a CTD, I had this problem before with the CTD and uninstalled everything and then reinstalled just to find out PB needed updating. I of course already tried that manually with no luck but had read that some people will experience this if the server you are playing on is being hacked. IDK, maybe somebody else can help you with your problem better.

other than that, sounds like a vista problem to me

Knowing technology, you just got handed the short stick for a while. It might just..go away. PB said I was hacking at one point, then EA kicked me, then nothing, works fine... you never know.

Well, the message is only for about 1 second, so pressing ESC will take more time to load ;)

Someone else confirmed this aswell, now I need a 3rd party wireless manager or something. Can you or anyone else recommend me one? Free if possible =P. This is just lame and retarded. (ww.wlanbook.com/disable-windows-vista-wireless-zero-configuration/ , add another w) to disable this crap piece of code M$ made.
