  • .86 install problems

Hi all, new computer and have encounter install problems.

I'm all patched up and have installed core .86 and it runs but I get a message that I don't have the necessary maps.

Okay so when I try and install .86 levels, I get an error saying I need to have core .86 installed?

First I would confirm that you downloaded both the core for .860 - and that their versions match exactly. Reinstall the core, and try again.

      Thanks for the response.

Yes I have confirmed that it is the core .860. I have even run the game/mod, however it won't let me in any servers because I can't download the .860 levels.

Re-download your Core, maybe it's corrupted???

That's all I can think about.

Let all of us know if that works so we can go from there. We'll get through this. Computer problems are headaches, but an extremely good feeling when you can overcome one. Got to love challenges when you're a computer user. Hehe.

Thanks for the support. This problem has cause a huge major computer corruption issue with my rig.

Using windows 7 I attempted to open the core levels file manually to install the filed directly. In attempting to open the install program with another program, I somehow defaulted my computer so it will only open 1 type of .exe file no matter which program I try and launch. So now everytime my rig tries to launch a program--any program, the defaulted .exe program runs.

Looks like a reinstall is in the works. Perhaps this will also resolve my PR patching issues.

also make sure if you click on the properties icon of PR .86 on your desktop that you don't have Windows 95 computability mode checked.

                    Re: .86 install problems

There was an instance of corrupted files on one of the sites hosting the files. It's likely that this is what your issue was. I'd try downloading from another just to be safe.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.

I had to roll back my computer to the time before .86 install.

I then reinstalled it and "Bob's ur uncle"

                      See you on the battlefield.
