Please congratulate your fellow TG players on their achievements! Also, please remember it only takes a few minutes to nominate one of your teammates for a ribbon (see the link in my signature). Keep those nominations coming in.

    Combat Action(class1)

    Ribbon: Combat Action

Nominees: Fivenine, Wargasm_UK, VikingX (not sure of his forum name), |TG| U.S.specialforces3 and br123456 (pupsi-0815)

    When: August 26th evening (euro)

Where: Fools road 16, TG public PR server

Why: The game was fools road had the following flags active: Hill 133 (Russians first, D8), Hill 165 (Chechens first flag, B5) and Hill 93 (middle flag, A8). We were Chechens, the nominees were my squad during the round.
We started off by moving to C8 to keep the Russians from capping 133 we took of in a technical and rushed it. When we got there I ordered the squad to stay low to make us harder to spot. When I was looking for enemies and enemy truck and BRDM2 moved around west of our position in C8 they stopped in C8k2 where we were on the hill north of them. The members asked for permission before engaging and held off until we were able to mass fire on the enemy. When the time came we opened fire on the BRDM2 and the truck took out the driver of the truck and we killed the BRDM in the end. But before it was down we were being attacked from the north by an enemy squad. At the time I was down so the members worked together to take down the enemy squad. When we were done and retreating to hill 93 we had taken 6 casualties and had 13 kills plus a BRDM and truck without the use of AT weapons (I forgot the Russians had armour when we moved out). When we got back to hill 93 we killed somewhere between one and two squads without taking a single casualty the rest of the enemies were dealt with by squad 2 (we were squad 1). We recapped with squad 2 and both squads stayed and defended in cooperation where squad 2 took the north west area and we took their left and right flanks. For this I split the squad in three buddy teams (1. me and fivenine(medic), 2. Specials and Viking(AR), 3. Wargasm and pupsi). Team 2 took the south where they set up with the AR on the hill in B8k1 and specials running around below. They worked well together assigning each other directions of fire and taking input from each other and me. During our defence they on many occasions tore whole squads apart just those two and were up helping squad 2 on multiple occasions killing the enemies that were giving them trouble. Nothing passed on the south flank the whole game. Team 1 was roaming around in support of squad 2. we were flanking the enemy and killing anyone flanking squad 2. team 3 was originally guarding the firebase and the northern approach but when heavy contact was encountered (squad 2 had been killed) they supported team 1. later in the game (when more people had joined) squads 2,3 and 4 were attacking and our squad defending on our own where we on multiple occasions were attacked by more then one squad and from different directions. We held tight and I only at one point did I have my doubts about us holding it on our own but they quickly disappeared when team 2 kept killing anything that advanced on they south side.

After 20-30 min on our own defending the enemy stopped attacking so I asked if team 3 would get a technical in D7k7 because it had been sitting there for a good while and none had claimed it. And they had said over TS that they were neutralising 133 so we needed some wheels. They got the technical and brought it back to 93 and we kept on defending and till 133 was neutral so we went for the technical and went to 133 helped cap it and then moved on to cap Dylym village and end the game.

Throughout the game everyone in the squad were good on giving contact reports and general communication. They were also exceptional in the way that none of them seemed to have an ego since they all just took each others advice and followed orders to the point. They gave good input and took some good initiative in and were good at sticking with their assigned buddy (actually they split themselves up when I told them to find a buddy). They didn't just run towards contact where it was reported but stayed and covered their sectors eventhough they might not have any contact at the moment. When I called a team to reinforce another team they quick in responding and listened to where the enemy was and moved on it. At the end of the game we had a 3-1 KD and had done our job of defending 93. From we first set foot on the flag the Russians were never close to neutralising it.

    Armor Specialist (class1)

    Who?
    |TG| PaintScratcher

    What?
    Distinguished Armor

    Where?
    Kashan Desert

    Game: PR

    When?
    Aug. 29

I would like to nominate PaintScratcher for a Distinguished Armor ribbon after todays outstanding round of PR on Kashan Desert. We ended up on the MEC team. In the beginning I wanted to do a Little Bird squad but since they don't spawn right away we had to wait for 17 min till they do spawn. We thought of grabbing an APC and PaintScratcher was driving and me gunning. First we went to the bunker complex to help our team cap 2 flags. We shot down 2 blackhawks and stoped US from capping flags in the bunker complex and also left US without transport helicopters. After we capped 2 flags our APC had to transport troops to another flag to help cap. First we had to shut down 2 tanks in order to actually get out of the place were the troops were. Then we transported troops to the next flag safely but I was running low on ammo so we got shot down. After that I thought that I'd like to fly the Little Bird now but that didn't go too well and we got shot down 2 times. After that we went back to armor business and shot down several enemy tanks and lots of infantry. By the end of the round our team had capped out the enemy and so we won. We went 39-1 if you only count the APC that we lost. I've had a great round that day and I believe that Paint did outstanding driving that armor so I would like to nominate him.

    Medic Specialist(class1)

    Who:
    -=256-=Disco

    What?
    Medic

    Where?
    Project Reality, West Fallujah

    When?
    August 08th 2009

    How?
This is the guy who kept this squad moving and alive, as soon as some one went down Disco got them straight up again.
At one point We got ambushed by over 15 insurgents, Couger and Mantak were in the middle of the road and got lit up from 3 different locations with a hideout stuck right in the middle.

As Couger and Mantak go down Jeepo start tearing it up with the saw as the insurgents were playing catch with my m203's. Disco was no where to be seen. 3 Loud Cracks go Past my head and jeepo is down! Oh crap i'm on my own i though to my self... However Disco comes charging out of the smoke that has built up from the firefight and revives jeepo.

As soon as jeepo gets back on his feet i see him giving the insurgents all the lead he has not sparing one round. Disco then Runs off like a mad man and gives couger a shot of epinephrine right in the middle of the firefight, gets him fixed up and ready to fight again. Now its Jeepo, Couger and my self fighting off over a dozen insurgents as mantak is still wounded.

After putting down an insane amount of suppresive fire we finally got mantak up as the APC's showed up killing any insurgents that jeepo's Lead missed.

    Armor Specialist(class2)

Award Recommendation: Armour ribbon, Anti tank unit

    Game: PR

    Nominee: Sandiford (Class II)

Period Covered: 19-20 July 9:00pm-12:00am GMT

For the Sunday event, a squad of IFV's and Tanks(if we lost the IFV's), consisting of myself, Jeepo, Warlab and Sandiford, with Sandiford and myself as the drivers. During the round, we coordinated succesfully, and at one point were able to turn the TOW launchers of both vehicles on a exposed armour convoy crossing a bridge. Even in defeat, we worked efficently, by simply having the remaining vehicle avenging the other, and then being able to take another armour piece from main. We gained a positive a KDR on the enemy vehicles, and was able to support the infantry in their advances on nroth village when it had been overrun. After the game, I heard complaints from the opposite team about our armour holding a spot and blocking their armour advances on the northern half of Kashan.

When: From 2100 CT to 2300 CT

In conjunction with my squad, 6th INF, we were able to hold the North Bunkers on Kashan Desert for 2 hours straight, leading to an 89-0 victory.

At the beginning of the round, Dirtboy's squad made it immediately to North Bunkers and set up a Fire Base. With overwatch from the tanks he began an assault on the South Bunkers, while my squad helped provide cover fire from the North Bunkers. My squad was overrun, and the friendlies in the area were also overrun. Squad 2 was essentially cut off. The enemy captured South and North Bunkers. While 6th INF covered the rear objective from being captured, Dirtboy's squad managed to secure the North Bunker objective once again, and rebuild a firebase for our teamates to spawn on. From this point forward we would be inseparable at North Bunkers. For the next 1.5 hours our squads kept the enemy from capturing North bunkers. Squad 2's medic work was superb, saving us many tickets throughout the course of the battle. Wherever my squad failed, Squad 2 picked up the slack. Squad 2's medics did not "forget" about the ticket count the whole way through.

His squad's resilience paid off, when finally in the last 15 minutes the attacks ceased - Only because he was wrecking the enemy down at South Bunkers!

Great round, great shooters, great squad leading, and great medics. It made the 2+ hour slug-fest into one of the more memorable rounds I've had in a while. If it wasn't for Dirtboy's squad we would have lost the game in the first 30 minutes.

    How?
Throughout the round of Qwai River, rangedReCon and Liquid.Watch provided amazing logistics support to our team, the United States, that was a decisive factor in our victory that day. The two constructed and defended firebases in strategic locations deep behind enemy lines, paving the way for our infantry to capture all of the remaining flags in a quick manner, keeping casualties drastically lower than they would have been if we had not been able to cap out the enemy team.

    Distinguished Jet Combat

    Where?

    When?
    25.8.2009, from around 2 PM GMT + 1 to 4 PM

    How?

    Map : Kashan desert
    Team : USMC

As the server wasn't populated, and ther were only 4 people online me and tomato headed to NB where we have built a FB with some good razor wire.

Server started populating and he headed back to main in anticipation to take the jet and help me. As the game went on I already had a full INF squad and while I was lasing for him we held their entire team back with 5 INF and 1 CAS f-16. We destroyed all of their armor untill some of them rage quit, making room for more possible causalties

In some point in the game he even landed his f-16 and took the blackhawk, providing us with transport. While he was trying to pick us up he got shot several times due to unreported AA. After some attempts we successfuly got extracted from the bunkers and inserted to South Village. When more and more people started to join the server whole USMC team went infantry leaving only tomato to support our approach/attack. And what he did surprised even me, those were one of the most accurate attacks PR have ever seen. He even took a tank with a bomb manualy with no lase. Now for you that play PR and have actually flown an aircraft know that is near to impossible. As round invovled in a whole scale combat from both sides with more and more players joining Tomato missions were more and more often. As he was coming to attack another target unreported AA took him down. He took the a10 and kept supporting our team and was a great substitution for armor/cas. Sadly I had to leave the server a bit early as a real life took priority but I still think that kind of actions should be ignored in PR, or any game for that matter.

Thats why I'm nominating Tomato for Distinguished Jet Combat as I find him for one of the most underrated regular here at TG.

    Valorous Unit(class1)

    Recommended Award: Valorous Unit

    Game/Server: BF2-Project Reality / TG Server

Place and Time: 08/14/09 20:00 EST

    Map: Operation Barracuda

    My Role: Commander

    Players Nominated: Techmaster21 & [TFO] {OLC}Wookie

    Nomination:

After assigning both CAS choppers to his unit, I proceeded to allow them to take a more passive role which in my terms means..."do what you want, until I need you".

Once they were made aware of a large hostile force at Swamp, the unit initiated strafing runs prior to friendly infantry arrival, during a 2 sided assault, and after flag was secured. About halfway through the assault, the unit switched target priority to Docks which was under attack the entire time and was only defended by a single inf squad, due to lack of availible manpower. Due to lack of communication by the Docks defenders, and imminent overrun at Swamp; I made a spilt-second decision to order the unit to abort their mission and change target priority from Docks to Swamp in the best intrest of the team. The unit immediatly followed above said instructions without hesitation or second-guessing. It was only after friendly units reported having control at Swamp that I gave the unit the option of splitting the target areas amungst the two choppers. Swamp was captured but docks was lost.

However my hopes paid off. Once Swamp was captured, the unit resumed full target priority to Docks. The two repeatedly executed ground attack runs on the docks area until friendly reinforcements arrived. A JDAM was dropped around 2:20:00. And friendlies were able to resecure the area. Round ended in the process of a Docks recapture with the US winning 75-0 having never recaptured Docks and China never losing Airfield.

Techmaster & Wookie showed extreme teamwork to the team and to myself during this round by
-only engaging targets that needed to be engaged for the team...not for themselves.
-remaining parked on the carrier unless needed...without me ordering them to do so.
-following orders to abort an attack run that most people would claim "needed".
-attacking any marked AA at the risk of shoot-down to protect transport helos.
-using superior air skills to accomplish their mission at the risk of shoot-down by AA/FAV/HMG fire on every single attack run because the team needed them.

These two pilots were the sole reason for the resecuring of docks and the win itself by putting the team before themselves. Any hostile deemed a threat to their team, anywhere on the map, was their first priority. This unit only lost two attack choppers (one at 3:42:00 / other at 2:36:42) the entire round and caused ZERO friendly fire incidents.

Therefore it is my duty to nominate them for this award.

PS: My nomination is for their overall teamwork and cooperation as a unit, not for air vehicle skill itself...hence the reason for Valorous Unit recommendation.

    DarkMirror06

    What?
    Distinguished Defense

    Where?
    TG, Project Reality server

    When?
    August 12, 2009

    How?

Tman made an infantry squad at the begining of the round on Korengal Valley. We were assigned by our squadleader to defend the road exeting the Camp Muprhey's flag. We've set up a rally and a hideout on position where enemy couldn't reach them but we were still close the the road. Blade and DarkMirror have taken the HAT to guard the road and they made sure NO VEHICLE passed the holy road. And let me tell you there was no shortage of vehicles coming out, and they were all IED'ed by berlancic or killed by a RPG from Blade, amazing.
Me, Tman,Mnam and DarkMirror took standart rifles as blade and berlancic were so successful in killing the vehicles, our job was to hold all the USMC infantry back pushing them into their main where they got mortar strike
We literally held 2 or 3 enemy squads trying to get out of their main so our teammates didn't had any troubles defending the caches. As I said no vehicles/infantry passed that area defended by 6 talibans which in conjuction with good squad leading lead to 100+ kills (I believe it was 104 at the end).
The round ended in 1 hour, which for PR is very short round, and our squad had most of the kills on our team. A think ribbon should honor the exploit made by all the players in our squad.

    Distinguished Squad Leader(class2)

    Where: TG PR Server
    When: 07AUG09 @ 2100 CT
    Who: Big Gay Al

    How:
Al and I agreed before the round started to a plan. He also agreed to follow whatever requests I had, and would follow any orders I gave him over TS. So with this, we had a 12 man squad. This allowed me the flexibility with my troops, and also doubled our collective firepower.
From our dropzone, we leap frogged our squads from one end of the runway on Operation Barracuda to another. With no casualties. He covered me from the start, and once I got to the hangers, my squad covered his. At the end of the runway was the rock fort compound, infamous for it's impregnability due to Automatic Riflemen inside. Once again, given my flexibility, Al went to the Right and infiltrated the facility from the rear. I assaulted from the front. While resistance was weak, it was textbook infantry tactics executed on the fly, thanks to the suggestion from Al.
When our squads held Beach Front on Barracuda, I tasked Al with building defenses at the end of the runway and keeping our flank secure. His squad did an excellent job, and I did not have to worry about so much as a single troop making it through his defense at the runway and flanking my troops otherwise occupied with controlling Beach Fort.
Finally, when the time came for an assualt on the enemy main, Al was already ready to go. My squad was not, so his squad loaded in a chopper and inserted straight into the enemy main. They secured the Chinese Missile Silo within 2 minutes and the flag was easily captured.
The round would not have been won if I had to micromanage both my flank and the flag we were defending. I also would not have been able to quickly capture the enemy main. The game would drag out for at least another hundred tickets. Al was organized and on the ball, so thanks to him we won with a lot of agility.

    Combat Action(class1)

    Where: TG PR Server
    When: 07AUG09 @ 2100 CT
    Who: Wargasm, Almight Lion
    How:
Almighty Lion already has a good reputation among the community for being a solid player. But when I tasked him on Operation Baracuda to be my eyes and ears on a flag with |TG-31st|Wargasm, along with two members of Al's squad (See Distinguished medic nomination for details...) I was primarily concerned with only having a set of eyes and ears. I did not expect Almighty Lion and Wargasm to pretty much repel enemy squads and independently call in fire from the SAW - keeping the Beach Front flag safe from capture 25 mins into the round until the end, all the while under continuous assualt from an enemy squad, sometimes more. 4 v 6 is not that bad, but When the enemy team was charging through the trenches on the flag with 8+guys, it was certainly impressive. Wargasm was great at sighting out the enemy, giving me enough time to get support where it was needed. Both of them did an awesome job, and rarely did I have to worry whether or not the flag was safe.

Could we have won the round if we lost that flag? Maybe. We would have had to win on sheer kills, and with how many light vehicles the enemy team had, they could have easily overran other positions on the map. But Almightly Lion and Wargasm kept the flag the entire time, without complaints.

    Medic Specialist(class1)

    Where: TG PR Server
    When: 07AUG09 @ 2100 CT
    Who: Berlancic
    How:
Volunteer for medic at the beginning of the round, Berclancic kept my squad operating throughout the whole round - And was an auxillary medic for |TG-6th|BigGayAl's squad when his squad was in trouble. (I was in command of Big Gay Al's squad and mine [We were working as one])

For an INF squad on USMC on Operation Barracuda, having a good medic is one thing. Having a medic who kept the squad operating at a full capacity while covering a couple hundred meters in some cases for a revive/heal is another. Not only that, but he helped us keep a 33-7 Killeath Ratio. I as the squad leader was revived 4 times. I did not keep count of how many times he revived my other squadmates or those under my command in Big Gay Al's squad. An excellent round topped by nobody in the squad having more than 2 deaths!

Definitely impressive. I must rethink him as a player after such an impressive round.
