  • Honor, respect and reputation

Just wanted to ask some of you old timers do you care about your personal reputation and the community.

Itís happening now almost every night now, when I login I recognize players on both teams, then the map ends and suddenly every one of these guys is on the 1 team and nobody on the other. 1 teamís coordination goes to the crapper (not saying they necessarily loose just the whole fun factor goes to the toilet). Try pressing TAB after map change and 80% of the time you are gonna see teams at 24 vs 32 before the non-regulars fill the empty slots

What is really bothering me here is that I am seeing known regulars that I respect and would never believe would do it changes teams regularly. Has it gotten so bad the people are starting to think: ďeveryone else is doing it so why not me?Ē

Iím playing less and less just because it not any fun playing with the teams like this.

Another thing what happened to the rivalry between X and the 6th? I really miss that, used to be that you could always trust them to stack up teams on each side an go at like they were fighting for survival or something, now days itís just hugs and kissesÖ. mehhhh

Third, who are better the 6th Devils or the 10th TG? (If Iím not being to obvious)

    Re: Honor, respect and reputation

Let me take off my admin hat here for a second and respond with the perspective of a member of the 6th Devils, but let me first say that I was not on tonight and didn't witness anything...

First off, why does the blame always fall upon the 6th and the 10th? 9 times out of 10 we actively seek the opposite teams to even things out, and the one time we do decide to play together everyone throws a fit. While it is true that the 6th and 10th are the largest IHS's here at PR, that doesn't mean we are solely responsible for teamstacking.

What do you ask, that we sacrifice our gaming and we can never play on the same teams again? It may not seem like it, but occasionally the members of our two IHS's want to take a night from evening up the teams to have fun together. There are plenty of other players who can take up the torch, switch teams and start leading to even things out. But it doesn't happen; instead you have people switching over to play with the oh-so-great 6th/10th and everyone else on the losing team leaves out of frustration. You give me that same "stacked" player list and I'll gladly call out 10 people that could switch over to start leading the other team.

I'm sorry, but the 6th and 10th have worked hard to combat teamstacking as best we can, and if no one else wants to man up and switch to the losing side then what the hell are we as in-house squad members going to do about it?

I think Snoogums's thread was going pretty well, I don't really see a reason for a second thread...

I didn't join a squad once and this guy named Nardini took me into the back room and beat me with a sock of oranges.

          Re: Honor, respect and reputation

We still split up on opposite sides almost 90% of the time. Tonight we were a little selfish and played a couple of rounds together. This has got to be the first time we've done that in quite a while, so it's not a regular thing.

Rivalry? Sure, there still is one. But the thing is is that I like all of the guys in the 6th, too. Why does a rivalry have to be nasty? Can't we be friendly rivals who enjoy bringing out the best in each other?

              Re: Honor, respect and reputation

              Tonight:

              Qwai River:

Chinese team that google and I (The only 6th on the server) are on is getting slaughtered, but Google and I ambush and take out 1x Stryker, 1x Tow, 2x HMMWV, 2x Supply truck, and get the kills from that and a few others. Cant remember our KD together, but we easily got over 50 tickets to our name.

A full 6 man 31st squad is on the chinese team.

Disposable Hero is the only 10th member on - he's on the US team - but the US team is having serious issues itself. Besides the disgusting loss in assets between from the works of Google and I, a squad on the US team repeatedly assaults the same flag and has a .5 KDR that probably lost them the round.

Not like the Chinese team is doing much better. While it holds Government office, it threw away 100 tickets in 20 minutes assaulting mining facility.

AFSoccer joins the US team. Google and I decide that due to our abilities, we'll join up with Dispo and Soccer after qwai for Barracuda. AFSoccer Commands, does his best, but fails. Not a very large margin. 65-0 victory for China.

              Barracuda:

Google and Skud swap. Skud creates 6th INF, with the following:

              Skud
              Google
              AFsoccer
              Disposable
              TG-MD6 Wookie
              Buflax

Well, we got a total of the following IHS members on the Chinese team for Barracuda...

              TG-X - 1.
              TG-6th - 3
              6thMD - 1
              31st - Randy

? mark guys have a squad of 4 (?). No more than 4 of them.

31st guys stay on the US team until round ends.

Same squad from Qwai river that had horrible .5 KDR does it again. We believe we may lose.

We won, but whatever. My squad sat on supply the entire time. While we may have been 30+ for 20, we weren't the deciding factor.

Oh, and at one point, Axis was the CO for about 15 minutes before rage quitting.

              Ejod:

              My squad looks like this:

              Skud
              Dispo
              Project
              AFsoccer
              Google
              Buflax

              So the tally is...

              6thMD - 1 (Wookie makes own squad)
31st - 1 Randy is in Wookies squad, at my FOB, with an HAT. He does not die the entire round.
              6th - 3
10th - 1 but Dispo is old and blind, and goes 0 for 3.
12th - Project. But he hasn't played in probably a year. I saw him on Barracuda and said I'd give him an invite - Why? Because I am always looking for retainable IHS members from other titles. I also enjoy playing in 12th squads in PoE, so I always return the favor in my theater.

              Also, it's nothing new...

              http://www.tacticalgamer.com/house-s...t-into-pr.html

? mark guys are gone, I think.

Skud's squad sets up an excellent firebase, that stays up the entire round. The team did all the fighting. We picked off APC's and random INF threats to our FOB just north of Gas Station. We did have a ridiculous KDR.

Do you want to know why?

Because I consider myself a good SL. Ego? Yeah, maybe. But I've also been squad leading since March 07. Since .05. Since before most people here were playing. I put razor wire up in every alley way to prevent the enemy from easily flanking us. I put a total of 8 ammo crates in different spots. I have a rally set up away from the FB. I have guys covering specific sectors. I have guys with specific kits. I have those specific kits located next to abundant ammo. I make several ammo runs.

TG-X Pancho gets on the server. He ends up replacing Project.

              New Tally...

              6thMD - 1 (Wookie makes own squad)
31st - 1 Randy is in Wookies squad, at my FOB, with an HAT. He does not die the entire round.
              6th - 3
10th - 2, but both are old and complain a lot. They also get free pancakes at mcdonalds, and are members of the AARP.

From what I remember the score looking like....

              Skud - 2 and 0.
              Soccer - 1 for 1
Buflax, with the saw - 10-14 and 1
              Dispo - 0 for 3.
              Project - 0 for 3, was medic.
Pancho - 9 for 8? He was even sniping.
Google - don't remember. But he was LAT and then medic for remainder.

Randy... dunno. But he was HAT.

              -----------------------------------------------------

              Alright.

Google and I originally switched for 2 reasons.

              1. The US team was not doing well. Soccer requested that we switch, although he did notice that things may be perceived as "stacked."
              2. I wanted to play with Disposable Hero. He's a great guy to play with.

So what happened? Klingons. People rage quit. If it's 11PM Central, it's 12PM EST, and euro's are probably thinking about going to bed or have passed out on the keyboard already and were kicked for idle. People like myself who had been playing since 5PM central decided that eating dinner might be a good idea.

But guess what... The server just crashed. Teams are fresh. Most of us that are an obvious "inbalance" are off to bed.

              ---------------------------------

Another thing what happened to the rivalry between X and the 6th? I really miss that, used to be that you could always trust them to stack up teams on each side an go at like they were fighting for survival or something, now days it’s just hugs and kisses…. mehhhh

Third, who are better the 6th Devils or the 10th TG? (If I’m not being to obvious)
The rivalry still exists. The 6th enjoys playing against the 10th. The 10th enjoys whooping our butts. I enjoy whooping 10th butt.

But we have had ups and downs. Does anyone remember "6th vs 10th IRL"? It's a locked and buried thread in 6th Devils history about a joke gone horribly wrong. Skud wrote a very lengthy, humble apology to Dispo. Skud even offerred to step back from PR for a long period and remove his tags because of the offense. And it all stemmed from a practical joke that involved real life. The joke was centered around our rivalry.

But... you know who was the first to PM me when I was online after graduation from AF graduation? Dispo.

And this issue of "teamstacking" is not new. And to anyone who keeps up with IHS doings you would know we've (10th and 6th) have been all over the issue for YEARS now.

              http://www.tacticalgamer.com/house-s...ership-pr.html

That thread was made by Randy before his departure from the 6th, which was over a year ago. It was before Skud went to basic. It was before the 15th was where it is now. It was before the 31st. It was before or just before the 69th.

It was also a big dividing rift between the 10th and the 6th that we're still recovering from. That was a bloody discussion that I didn't think we'd ever get past. But we did. And our potential, at TG PR, has only increased since then. We've only added more winning campaign ribbons since that thread.

At the end of the day we both want the same things. While we may have some public disagreements over the "TG way," both IHS live and breath it.

So, how about 6th and 10th vs the rest of the tagged players? Surely you all outnumber us combined, yet we have to be the ones who just see each other on the opposite team?

No, we will do that most of the time but sometimes we will play together. There didn't need to be a new thread acting like two specific IHS are the problem when we attempt to even teams and the team follows us like lost puppies. We can't balance the teams if everyone else follows us over.

                    Re: Honor, respect and reputation

I care a great deal about "Honor, respect and reputation" so let me add my perspective on Saturday night:

                    - I joined Qwai and commanded the U.S. team, even though all my 6th buds were on the Chinese.
                    - The U.S. lost, although it wasn't a blow-out by any means... I think it was 59-0 at the end.
                    - As Barracuda loaded, the 6th guys used TS to discuss the teams and decided to have the three 6th guys switch over to Chinese to help even things out. At that time, I think the only squads on Chinese were four guys from the |?|, a couple from the 69th and one from the 10th.
                    - The Chinese did win, but that map is favored for the Chinese... and we lost docks for a short time and Beach Front for almost the whole game. So I think it was as even as Barracuda can be, due to the map design.

I just want to make the point that I can't remember a single instance in the last few months that I haven't thought about team strengths when I joined the server and during map change. I just wish more people did the same. This can't be solved by focusing a microscope on the 6th and 10th, or by challenging our honor. If we consciously split up or play on the opposite side from the 10th 8 times out of 10, then it only seems fair that the other squads and regulars pull their own weight too.

I even gave up and grabbed an ACOG, then right after killed a MEC Specialist and figured God was sending me a signal, Grabbed the G3 (which I hate) and the rope and trundled off for the motel again.. Dear gentleman,

It appears to me that you take offense to me calling you "old." Well I have taken a measure of offense to you saying that I was a "younger man more prone to emotional fits." Good sir, you must realize that what you say is semantics.

See, you and I are quite the same. We both find joy in playing with our prime mates. We've developed our own communications disciplines, SOP's, and friendships with our "In House Squads." It appears that outside of communication, so basic discipline, and friendships, there is no difference between you and I - or anyone else that passes through the "server."

Regardless, I am going to marry your daughter, and there is nothing you can do about it. Therefore, in good sport, I challenge you to a duel.

                        Will you accept?

                        Very respectfully,

P.S. If I was not the Squad Leader, I would have taken the Sniper kit myself. Good hunting!
