@almightylion this game is very different. if you haven't played it before be prepared for a hard start!
can i suggest that if you guys are serious about picking this game up, that you install it and head on over to the arma2 section and get some gameplay in. this game, for those that don't know, plays a lot differently to what your used to in PR. The learning Curve is VERY VERY STEEP!!!
I switched to arma+Ace last year from PR, and it has incredible capabilities, but with a steep learning curve and requirement for higher time commitments per mission.
If this can bridge the difference between BF2PR and ARMA2+Ace2, then I think most of you will be -very- glad you spent the money on arma2.
Arma2 engine simply does what the BF2 engine couldn't (TrackIR, flightsticks, custom weapon layouts, medic simulation only limited by programming and gameplay concerns, and did someone say Fastroping? lulz) and the maps have a scale that makes flying choppers and to some extent jets way more enjoyable and realistic. We also have a mumble-equivalent for TS3 with some really neat features.
As always, please come visit us in the ARMA2 forum, read some AAR's, and check steam for sales. ARMA2 I bought for $25 last summer. It would be great to have the TG BF2PR community play in the same engine as us milsim geeks.
