            I never knew the direction the body was facing was different than the direction your view was in..

                Yes, your upper torso moves direction semi-independently of your lower half.

                That's why when someone is aiming in and they move their sight around you only see their arms moving about, rather than their entire body sliding left and right scraping their knees against the ground as they turn.
