  • Aviation training.

Hi, looking for a way to get aviation training going, especially jets. Training is one of the single most important things for an effective figher/bomber pilot. If somebody who logged a lot of flight hours is on the server and hops in its all good, but if one of the few is not on the server at that point in time, usually the next in line to jump in the jet is the guy who is still shaky at landing the aircraft.

    1. Is somebody aware of the 0.87 Kashan training maps to train bombing and quiling training maps to train jet on jet combat ported to 0.9 or something similiar?

    2. Is it possible to use the pr training server for that?

If something materializes and you are looking to train, drop your xfire.

    Some motivation.

You can join a coop training server. That is a great place to practice. Some of the aircraft handle a little differently, but you can crash all day long and the jets spawn right back up. Co-op mode.

Yep and IIRC the jets will be made to handle properly in the next release, I think I read this somewhere. So your problem should be solved by then. Depending on what level you are at TGU could possibly help you with your problem but depends on the level you are on since I don't think any of us specialise in jets. But if noone wants to help you send me a PM and I will look into it
If people are becoming so bored when playing that they have to resort to this immature behaviour I will give them something to do, call it a project. The project is "appeal a ban". - Wicks

Well I wasnt thinking of anything fancing really. Just people looking to train jet pooling their Xfire or the like, so 2-4 guys can meet up and train if they feel like it.

CAS is 90% knowledge 10% skill. I would ask really good pilots for tips and strategies first. Also, make sure you go as spotter at some point.

Even landing is more about alt/speed than skill.

YEa Luda is right, and this goes for "dogfights" as well."Dogfights"(which occur very rarely in PR) can be formulated as %70-80 situational awareness and %10-20 luck %10 skill.

In other words, practice landing first, once you think you get the hang of it, try to fly as much as you can on populated servers.Try A-10 and frogfoot as starters, since they are a lot easier to fly(infact land) compared to Quinling jets and f16&mig 29.

And for sit. awar. ,you just have to practice against players, 2 tips

            * dont fly checking front and back only.

            * Switch to AA missiles or long ranged AA missiles when looking forward.

Check your PMs Golgo, I'm always eager to help an aspiring pilot. My methods might not be TGU standards (yet, I'll keep working on it :S), but they sure beat fumbling around.

No I dont... I'm a good pilot but definetly not the best.

Hey I sent you a PM. For now personally I am not looking to do anything fancy, just a couple of bombing runs with somebody lasing and eventually a bit of jet combat. But if I get the basics done I am definelty looking forward to learn new stuff. But this is also to motivate people to meet up on a weekly biweekly basis if 2-3 pilots catch each other online and do 30-60 minutes of flying so there is reliable flying if one of the top guys isnt on the server.

Mumble has an channel called unused 3. Who feels like training some flying could join up there and if there are like 2 or 3 people, they can load on a server and go at it.
