  • EF & "modified content" message

Has anyone gotten this message? I installed Euro Forces an tried logging on a server with EF maps but I get the moified content message. Tried about 3 different servers (vanilla maps and SF still work) and I tried the reboot and reinstall methods for everything. Any help?

EA rocks. If they had any part of their souls remaining, they would help people find a solution to this problem. A message which says "there is a problem with file X" would be a start...

I have had this problem three times now and it just doesnt get easier, I tried everything...Installing just the incremental patch, the whole patch, everything and the only way i solved it was to uninstall and reinstall the whole lot !!!

Did you remove the contents of the BF2 folder under My Documents when doing the uninstall/re-install?

                Soul,

I fixed my SF "modified content" by getting the 1.21 full patch from ea downloader. I had problems with the patch content from TG.... Have you tried this?

Someone energetic needs to run checksums on all of the working BF2 files and compare them with the files of a failing system. It could be that this is as simple as one bad file which could be replaced in 30 seconds.

The technical wiki has md5 sums up to 1.12 but hasn't been updated for 1.2. Since I sometimes get modified content errors myself, I'm kinda afraid that my results would lead someone astray.

Re: EF & "modified content" message

Patch 1.22 screwed up my program last night, it said it was running the new version but clearly wasn't, and refused to reinstall. So I wiped and rebuilt all my BF2 files from the original disks, using the incremental patches. It works now, however I am getting the modified content message for EF on TG servers now. Ranked pubbies don't seem to be a problem, but TG is a no go. Any ideas? I really REALLY don't want to download the damn 1.22 full patch and rebuild again.

Re: EF & "modified content" message

I fixed my modified content error by uninstalling the game. Then I re-installed it. Went into ea downloader and installed patches/booster packs after sorting them by release date. I haven't tried an ef map yet, but vanilla is working again.

So I think it went something like

                        1.17 patch
                        1.17 to 1.2

                        1.2 to 1.21
                        euro forces
                        1.21 to 1.22

Re: EF & "modified content" message

Hey guys...I kind of had the same problem you had.

I was trying to install the 1.22 patch so I could join the TG server1, when I installed it it said I had a later version than the server. I think that when you install a patch, it UNINSTALLS Euro-Force. I had to reinstall Euro-Force before I could play on the server. If that doesnt solve your problem, I am sorry for you having to waste your time reading this post.
