  • Battlefield 2 for Windows Vista

Recently... well yesterday, I bought Battlefield 2 for $10 in my local BestBuy. I got it installed and such... and I wanted to try out the BattleRecorder. So I open my command line in a single-player game (~) and type "demo.recorddemo test01" and it starts recording. Then after playing for a while, I open up command line and type "demo.stoprecording" (both times without the quotes, of course). Anyways, I go to my EA Games/Battlefield2/Mods/bf2/Demos. At first there was no Demos folder, so I created one. I did what I had to do and nothing. No demo file was saved. Why?

Maybe it's because my Battlefield 2 directory is in Program Files (x86) instead of Program Files. I don't know. What should I do?

    Thanks,

I think I may have found a solution...

On the launch icon for BF2.. I clicked on "Run as administrator" and I got it working.

Why does everyone have x86 after their Program Files folder name?

In Windows Vista 64bit, x86 programs get installed to the "Program Files (x86)" folder rather than the "Program Files" by default. It's just a folder name, everything is transparent when it comes to running x86 programs.
