  • BF2, Voice / Mic, and Windows 7

I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64bit and I've yet to get the mic to work in BF2. Works fine in Ventrilo. Could you guys chime in if you've got a similar setup and your mic is working, and also, maybe talk about some of your settings? I've got my "front mic" and "speakers" set as default devices (figured that and a few other things out trying to get Vent to work on this new computer). Also, my mic is analog, not digital. In other words, I'm connecting with the regular 1/8th inch minijacks, NOT with USB. Thanks.

run BF2voicesetup exe in your BF2 install dir.
Stay together, communicate, don't give up.

That doesn't work; it didn't work when that application was autorun during first install. That's a "known issue" for Windows 7 (and Vista) users (according to my research on the EA forums). That application doesn't detect the mic, or show any levels. Also attempting to "save settings" causes the application to crash.

Also run BF2 as admin. Right click on the icon then run as admin, then try your sound tests.
