                  Re: mic volume

Have you isolated the problem? Is it the mic volume in general or are you having the problem with Voip/Mumble/TS? Does the headset/mic itself have volume control buttons? Are you having this problem in PR only?

it's with all programs, Voip/TS3/mumble, the headset does not have a mic volume control (that i know of).so i need to get my mic volume higher in general.

Have you tried playing around with the control panel sound options? I'd guess you have.

                        Re: mic volume

There is an option in most soundcard drivers to boost/filter the microphone, try that. And of course crank up the volume level through the windows control panel as wwell.

                          Re: mic volume

Ok, serious answer now, this may help if running WIN 7 or Vista:-

Apply MIC boost through Windows and then do the following to protect your desired settings.

Right click the volume icon in task bar
When the context menu pops up, choose recording devices, this will ring up a list of all hardware on your system that can stream sounds into Windows.
Select 'microphone' and then select 'properties'
No select the tab marked ADVANCED and find the radio buttons listed under 'Exclusive mode'. You should find both of them are ticked.
just unselect the top one 'Allow applications to take control of this device' and click 'OK'. Click Apply.

This should stop applications altering mic input levels. You may have to redo this after Windows updates but it takes seconds.

                          Hope this helps.

i got a option to filter my mic, but no option to boost it, and when i try cranking up my volume in the windows control panel nothing happens, i can turn it all the way down and there is no difference.

                            wicks, im running XP :(
