Distinguished Squad Leader, Class 1
Awarded to Asta85
Nomination:
Who: Asta85
What: Distinguished Squad Leader
When: Multiple occasions, but specifically 1/12/2017
Why:
We were playing on Gorodok INF map as Militia, pretty much getting kicked in the face at Niva Lower. The FOB that Asta85 placed to the north east was about the only thing keeping us in Niva Lower because the Russians fully committed to pushing us out. They were holding all of the vantage points really well. We were barely holding into the cap, when the FOB starts coming under fire. Managed to how beat that back and having the feeling that the whole Russian team was at Lower, Asta85 took our squad on a very, very far north then west flank to the Bunker, where we placed a FOB to the north about 50m.
Asta85 then moved out thinking it would be found swiftly, and the game would be just that much closer to over and he also said that seems felt that are taking our squad on a pointless mission to Niva Upper, because Lower by that time went neutral. BUUUUT...The other three squads managed to fight their way in long enough that our squad was able to neutralize Upper with no resistance,
thus creating a double neutral situation. So Asta85 warned us that it is about to get crazy in Upper, and that it would be best to not have more than two people in the same building, nor to push out a door or window, but to let the enemy come clear us out. This ended up being necessary and very effective. The Russians sent a squad back to clear us, but that never worked, so they sent two. That didn't start working for them until it was too late, as they stayed mainly invested in Lower, and we received some assistance from Squad 2.
We regained Lower, and Upper became the only attack point for either side. The Russians failed to recover all of their forces from Lower on the bet they'd retake Upper, but we capped it. Just before we capped Upper, the FOB at Bunker went active, and all of the downed players spawned on the FOB that Asta85 has placed earlier. Because too many people went to Bunker to neutralize, we went neutral again at Upper for another double neutral. Fighting was intense the whole time. Half the team fought their way back to Upper and we managed to retake it, with Bunker swiftly following. Squad 1 was able to set up an MG that overlooked everything towards Russian Main, and that held them out for the longest time.
The Russians then managed to flank us north behind our FOB and pin us down. That was a trick that almost cost us the cap point, but squad 2
managed to bust that up. After we resecured Bunker, and a few more minutes of intense fighting, we somehow pulled off winning by 237 tickets.
Through his actions, Asta85 exemplifies what it means to be a smart, organized prepared and reliable SL. He is a master of playing as SL role and understands the importance of their actions on the battlefield in support of his teammates on squad, and he also is a fantastic member of the Tactical Gamer community. And he is always willing to help and teach. So, it is with great honor that I nominate Asta85 for the ribbon of Distinguished Leader.

Distinguished Medic
Awarded to KeithMann (Mannerism)
Nomination:
Who: |TG-1stMIP|Mannerism
What: Distinguished Medic, Class Uncertain
When: Multiple occasions
Why:
Mannerism consistently plays the medic role on the Squad server and plays it very well. He is patient, remaining toward the back of most engagements as the squad medic should do so he can provide healing and revives as needed without needlessly endangering himself. He calmly communicates with other players to let them know where he is and that he will attend to them, keeping them from re-spawning and therefore preserving team tickets in the process. Mannerism is also skilled with the rifle, which makes him a complete combat medic in any squad. His ability to understand small unit tactics and flanking maneuvers compliment his role as medic perfectly, as he is able to gain position on enemies to neutralize them and therefore allow him the time and safety to bring his fallen squad mates back into the fight.
Mannerism embodies exactly what it takes to play the combat medic role in Squad perfectly and is more than deserving of this nomination.
